So to start off, grab a couple 22 gallon rubbermaid tubs, or any size really, 35 gallon tubs are good too, and smother the insides with tin foil tape, or mylar. Attachment 517Attachment 518

cause heat spots if you're using h.i.d. lighting, but with the cfls you don't need to worry about
that...I find that the foil tape is easier to find than mylar, and not as messy as paint.. imho

I was just wondering when you use this type of system, how do you determine watering habits? Since it's not hydroponic, can you offer a newbie some tips on how often to water?
Lovely DIY project!

Great work!
How many plants do you have per setup? Also, what are you doing to bring the plants closer to the light while they're small (it looks like they're sitting on a box in one picture)?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

And by the way your set up looks great!!!!! patiants my friend, you are doing just great! I raise and lower my lights on chains. Just put an eye bolt into the fixtures when I made them and use chains and S hooks. works just fine.

Hi all, got a question about the rubbermaids, they don't have that brand over here, what are the dimensions of them? How high are they when you stack 2 of them together?

I'm trying to have a super stealth hydro setup.. i don't even want to let the thing outta the box until it's time to harvest..
I'm wondering if i should use a cabinet or the rubbermaid method...
any thoughts?
THANKS!!!!!! | You read my mind. This will work using 3 bins. The bottom is my resevoir and the other two are grow chambers. I use top feed/ drip setup using GH Flora 3pt nutes and 6 cfls. I have 4 moms in 2nd week of flowering.Very impressed. I'll show ya'll the results later....Smokedoja, u r a genious.

biggers better i guess. but biggers louder so depending on how stealth u wont to keep yours is where id start lookn. i dunno what mine is. its smaller than a cd and it dose just fine. i sealed the two totes together with sum foam striping and it helps alot with the passive exhaust. did have two fans but last nite i pulled the damn wire out of the fan lol.
