i wouldent really know the definite answer to that. Ive only used cloners, soil and rockwool (on a few occasions)
I would say soak to start off with and then out keep moist as I would do with rockwool. I know with RW you dont want to squeee it as it blocks off the spaces where oxygen gets around the stem. Sling it in your cupped hand to remove any extra moisture.

More air to the roots in ANY medium means more rapid growth.
This is why fogoponics is supposed to be best hydro medium, the smaller the water droplet the more air it can deliver along with nutrients...Aero would be next up on that list.
When cloning make the bubbles as small as possible to make them most effective, and you want to saturate the water with o2 if @ all possible as it will mean faster rooting times

I suppose since the starter of this thread hasnt come back in I can answer this as well.
I do not use nutes in my cloners though some do. I find it unneeded myself....
I dont ph the water in them though some reccomend it. IMO if theres no nutes in there then theres no reason to ph the water as thats what ph is for...
I change water every day to every 3 days max. Leaving them in there will be fine and it can work, but makes cuttings more prone to bacterial buildup in the res water. Which can and will prevent cuts from rooting if it takes hold.
hopes this helps someone;)
