SPOKANE, Wash. - Two people were arrested Thursday following a four-month investigation and police raid on the medical marijuana shop 'Change' in North Spokane.
As part of the raid, police also seized marijuana from two grow sites that were part of the operation. Police confiscated 60 plants from one grow site in the 3900 block of Cedar and more than 100 plants from another grow site in Nine Mile Falls.
The 'Change' shop is currently closed and detectives were advising other area medical marijuana dispensaries within the City of Spokane to terminate their businesses as well.
Police say the 'Change' shop was selling marijuana to over 1,000 customers.
The two people arrested, Scott Shupe and Christopher P. Stevens, are the owners and operators of the medical marijuana shop 'Change.'
Police say this is the first bust of a medical marijuana dispensary in the state of Washington.
We don't have any provision for Dispensaries in WA. In fact... we are only allowed to have one patient per provider.
It was only a matter or time before these guys went down. It is indeed, very sad... but they jumped the gun and had to know this was coming. I only hope they were properly prepared with lawyers at the ready. If not... then they were just plain stupid.
