TAMPA, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol says anyone missing two big bags of pot can call their Tampa area office. A crew picking up litter from along Interstate 4 near Tuesday morning made an unusual find: two big plastic garbage bags stuffed with freshly harvested marijuana.

FHP Trooper Larry Coggins says the 60 pounds of pot might be worth around $54,000 on the street. It probably fell off or was thrown from a car on the interstate.

The plants appeared freshly picked and some had intact roots.
Coggins says it's not the largest amount of pot ever dumped along a roadside, but it's certainly not a common find.

That would suck if they just lost it. Too bad it's probably nowhere close to 60 lbs. of smokable pot (see pic).

60 Pounds my a$$. Maybe 2-3pounds once it's been cleaned.. $4000-$6000 maybe!!!
I don't know anyone that smokes roots, sticks/twigs and fan leaves.

Yeah I saw this on CNN .It was like 4 hefty sacs full of whole plants. so 60 lbs wet weight roots and all.

Yeal,I live near there,They always blow it up.They never say what the money vaule when they bust a met lab.They dont know they just blow it up so it sounds good.They also bust a house south of me,they said He had 200 lbs almost dryed and about 30 small plants growing.I seen that and it didnt look like 200 lbs.They inflated it too,one million in drugs.I want some of that.200 lbs = one million ha.This one somebody ratted the guy out.The house was out away from everything and the place was fenced in.They said they could smell it ONCE THEY GOT CLOSE TO THE HOUSE.They had to jump the fence to do that.I want to know how they got a warrent to go on the land.There again lose lips will sink ships.Hell if you grow two plants here you are a drug kingpin and off to jail you go.PEACE
