It may seem that LEO is out to get MJ users. My current feeling now is that since it is a Medical Drug it should be classified with other prescription drugs. That doens'nt do much justice for the regular users, but we as a population must understand that this is one of the downfalls with legalizing for Medical use only.
Law suits hardly do much justice by itself. True courts are not taking as much MMJ cases, but they are still working on non Medical Cases.
A lot of us are open about using Marijuana and i'm sure LEO knew about this guy for a while. The reason why people get busted is because some dummy files a complaint. It is partially his fault and responsibility for not takin better precautions, but like my Criminal Justice teacher said, "The law doesn't protect stupidity".

what i believe we should be fighting for is this
that there be NO laws, NO regulations, NO nothing about cannabis. as there wasnt any laws etc BEFORE 1936 except regarding hemp (there wasa hemp tax i believe.)
why the hell must we have things written down, as if SOMEONE is giving us that freedom?? get it? it no-ones to give. it doesnt have to be classified, or regulated.. it should just grow if you want. i mean there are no laws regarding cabbages! no-one to tell me i can grow them.as there are no laws regarding about a third of ornamental and wild plants that have mind altering properties... i mean its crazy and totaly out of hand. and this problem WONT GO AWAY until they totally erase every single reference to cannabis in every single LAW BOOK.
you know what i say?
**** THEM, and if every one says **** THEM what are they going to do? nothing they are powerless.

if it was a DRUG RING dont you think they'd have a bit over the $14 000, especially after what was it a two year investigation. why does no-one question this? how can this be overlooked??
damn if i was dealing for two years had over 300 plants at any given time and ONLY made
$14 000 i think id go do something else cause it would mean i was obviously not very good at it...

Technically it is considered a drug ring b/c they were going outside the legal limit. Now, the part i said that the law doesn't protect stupidity refers to the fact that if they really wanted to help other patients, they should considere being designated care takers who assist the patient with cultivation and use of Medical Marijuana.

still, it starts getting a bit tiring reading the same thing over and over and over... FUK dont the cops have anything better to do. its hawai.. go surf or something.. watch the chicks on the beach, i dunno.. catch a real criminal for example?
i get really pissed with this stuff cause i always imagine that it could be me one day
(yes its true marijuana DOES make you paranoid, but only cause you can get busted for it)

I think it is absolutly rediculious. If the laws were losen further to classified our HERB a HERBAL REMEDY. There would be no reason to sell it for a profit. Cause most people would grow there own. Jeez...NyQuil or a variation of, is legal for over the counter use. That stuff will knock me out and drool, wake up in a fog that takes hours to burn off.
Just another reason for the good people of this earth to grow there own and not partake of the street market.
My 2 cents!
Peace.

For the most part. Street cops don't care about MJ. They're more concerned about ICE (meth) users; i.e. before i got my Med card i was on my front patio laying on the couch herbing. All of a sudden my Uncle comes out of the blue and scares the crap out of me. It just so happened that he was in uniform. My first reaction was...oh sheeznick...i'm in for it. Then he starts laughing and replys sniff sniff... pretty good ah? Then he goes on telling me his reefer stories he encounters on the job.
The reason why this guy got busted is because somebody ratted him out. Like i've learned in class. The only time police knows of crimes like this is if somebody complains.
I don't hold LEO, in Hawaii, accountable. They are doing their job. Think about this. Everybody in Hawaii knows everybody, basically. I'm sure this guys already knew a lot of the LEO in Maui. Like i said before they probably didn't care until somebody complained about it. Then they were forced to do their job.
I know MJ isn't as harmful as other drugs, but federally it is still a Schedule I drug which means that if complaints are made LEO is forced, by federal law, to investigate. And most times when MJ users and enthusiasts are busted, it's because of the federal government, not local
Another example is my friend who use to deal, and a second friend who was busted. My former friend who dealt got caught with over an ounce of herb. The Police Officer who caught him gave him the spiel (sp?) about how much time he can do especially since they were all bagged up. But instead of busting him the Police Officer had him scrape it all on the ground then let him go.
My other friend was caught riding a stolen moped and was found to have an eight of herb. He only got charged w/ the moped.
There are lots of occasions where i encounter LEO when i'm herbing. Most they do to me is tell me to put it out. The laws in Hawaii are so liberal mainland LEO wonder how Hawaii is able to uphold our laws.
