ST. GEORGE, Mo. --
The mayor of the St. Louis suburb of St. George says marijuana found at his home was for medical use.

Harold Goodman, who is 64, was arrested Monday on suspicion of misdemeanor marijuana possession. He has taken a voluntary leave of absence as mayor of the tiny community in south St. Louis County.

Goodman claims the marijuana was for treatment of Crohn's Disease, a chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. But Missouri has no medical marijuana law.

The incident comes less than two months after a young man videotaped a St. George police officer berating him and threatening to arrest him on made-up charges, a video that made national news. That officer has since been fired.

Eventually all these little stories will become accepted in the media like OJ or Clinton's BJ.

Then things will really start to hapen.

Now they all have a newness to them still.

People are still shocked to read about a cop or a local government official being arrested for a mere biproduct of a plant.

I feel like things are already happening faster than I ever thought they would.

I feel like I will see national decriminalization, more mm states and a total laxation of the laws against marijuana in general.

When I was younger I would always dream that maybe in 20 or 30 years I would see the beggining of a gradual change.

I don't think the younger smokers realize how far we have came in a literally short period of time since it was phohibited back in 1937.

Just recently have things begun to change.

All you smokers under 25 should be careful and obey the law as much as you can if you intend to smoke mj.

We do not need bad examples for them damn feds to throw back up in our faces.

I think we need to spread an expected etiquette for stoners world wide.

what im saying is this guy uses mj for meds...for how long...how much..how often...why the **** doesn't he advocate the use of mm...this is why i say he should be beat..expecially with the power he has....itsa shame these politicans who use mm behind closed doors..but when bills come up for mm they stay in the shadows...peace
