Hallucinogenic chocolates doom Berlin sweet shop


BERLIN (Reuters) - Police closed down a Berlin sweet shop after discovering the owner was selling chocolates and lollipops laced with hallucinogenic mushrooms and marijuana.
The 23-year old owner of the shop in the trendy east Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg, an area known for its vibrant night life, was taken into custody on suspicion of drug-dealing.
"In the shop we found 120 pieces of magic mushroom chocolate and countless cannabis lollipops," said police, who confiscated around 70 sachets containing various drugs, about 20 marijuana joints, a range of pills and some jars of drug-laced honey.
Police said one customer, who appeared intoxicated, was arrested after trying to buy a bag of hallucinogenic mushrooms from an officer in the shop.

actually i don't think so, as far as i know the german laws, since the mid 90's at least, made it legal small personal amounts (googled and berlin limit are 20g of marijuana to be dismissed without any charge) - i doubt that then the actual acquisition of amounts for personal use to be an illegal act, just the possession of the substance is illegal and personal amounts will be confiscated and discarded as usual.

i guess they trying to reduce the burden on their prison system as well as this was in a time of slight social change in germany thanks to their reunion. But these days might be numbered as i read lately quite a few time that german government would be putting pressure on the dutch government to unlesh prohibition again to reduce the illegal drug problematic in germany - a nation pround on its pharmacitical industry, just gorgeous what the Fed bought us with the Marshall plan.

They were probably already after the owner for something else. Mushrooms taste like crap but if you grind them up and cook them with chocolate and a coffee like mocha you can hardly taste it. The active chemicals link to the fat inside the oil of the chocolate. You can buy legal mushroom chocolates somewhere online I think. I have eaten the chocolate bars before. I have made them before too. There are tons of recipes for shroom chocolate on the web.
