What about an 'R' rating on journals that contain profanity.

In the USA profanity has become more like slang, the offensiveness is really not there much.

Doesn't editing and censorship just add power to profanity ????

I was really surprised to PM's are edited, is someone reading PMs besides sender and recipient ???

That's what Rolli was doing, interceping PM's.

I know V.bulliten has lots of toys for mods and admin to play with.

Hi there, I hear you about the slang. When my friends listen to me they know me, so they know what I say is not meant to offend it is my sense of "colour" lets say.

If on the other hand I go to a party or hangout with friends at another friends place where they may have other friends there I am much more careful what I say. Since their friends may not know me they won't know what that same "colour" means.

In here where someone might see and read something without getting to know what you truly mean it might more easily offend them. Since we are trying to educate, help and build a community here IMO it should be kept at a standard so no chance of offending anyone.

We have an automatic censor that is triggered by certain words. No one reads pm's on this site. It is not aceptable and is a total breach of all privileges. I do know vid used to do that, and that is a good reason not to.

Any time you see **** it means simply the censor was triggered. That is it.

My guess is it was a loaded question? And I agree we don't need that kind of thing here. It does not educate, help or build the community. I guess some things are more important. IMO

If you at all know myself or jonny or scott or any of the other mods you will understand that we are not the type of people to invade anyone's privacy. I am sorry Rob, but you are wrong. Please do not say things that you do not know to be a fact.

This makes paranoid people MORE paranoid. PM's are private.

IF you had been here for a while you would know that this has come up before. We deal with people from many walks of life and many ages and levels. We like it like this. If you do not, you do not have to stay here. no one has you tied up and forced to stay here. Members are here because they WANT to be here. If you wish to use that language, there are many many sites that allow this. We do not.

this is a community in which every one respects one another wl6309. that means censoreship of cusswords foul language or what ever you want to call it..as it is offensive to some.

No worries. All over now.

When people start talking about censorship it usually means language. We want all to be comforable here and many med patiants do not feel comfortable with bad language. We are also a hub site for many many other sites. WE have to be the most peaceful of sites because of this. And it also covers bad language and attitudes. No racism, bad language, or bad attitudes are acceptable here. If you count that as censorship, then yes, we do censor things. It is our site, we do what we can to make it comfortable for many.

If that is not acceptable, too bad. It is our site. WE run it the way we want to. And many people like it this way.

Run it through your email spell check before posting. That is what I do sometimes.

Poor language (ie swearing) has no necessary purpose in forums. You can just as easily post without them and your intent will probably come out much clearer. I also feel that swearing just makes the community look bad as a whole. If you have one person come on here and run their mouth a lot, and someone from outside the community sees this page, their first impression is going to be that the whole community is like this. Do you really want to be represented in that light? It does not further our efforts at all and is completely unnecessary.

Just my two cents on the matter.
