Hey peeps, I am in need of some help.

I want a person who is willing and capable of finishing the GreenPassion's Marijuana Strain Database for us.

The person chosen, has to spend alot of time here at GP, as this task will require alot of your time.

The person chosen will also become a mod here at GP too, so the work load will be heavy for a bit.

You can NOT nominate someone else, please only volunteer yourself.


You must be able to do research on your own, and build the database in alpahbetical order and be able to crop pictures if necessary, without my assistance.

We are a small, close family here at GP, so following the rules and a willingness to become an integral part of GP helps.

The strain base is a huge job and easily available so many places already - who needs the same old info cut and pasted again and again.... why would we want anyone to spend that much energy of that? and who would benifit?

I think I must be missing something about the strainbase because everything else about GP makes sooo much sense

I think the info people really want at GP is a perminant post for three things
Where you get your DNA and level of satisfaction with the service
Grow report on said DNA
Smoke report on said DNA

new and old members could see what was recently recieved and if it is what they want very attractive to new members especially

one mod could keep the post clean of unhelpful comments so it stays useful and full of info based on members actual experiences

so far 20 members think this is a good idea and 0 think its not

and I can mod this section if you want, though there are plenty of people that have more knowedge and experience that I would recommend first

Scott06, you raise some interesting points. HighPhi is presently working on making a review section of different seed banks, highlighting personal experiences of dealing with them. This is 100% original and will be found here at GP.

Perhaps nixing the strain database in exchange for a simple link to weedbay or where-ever. Than accompany that section with the review section of different seed banks and we can add smoke reports to it too, each with there own category maybe.

I'm just thinking outloud at this point, and appreciate your opinions.

we should get a smoke report template happening so theres some order to peoples exp.

Thanks for doing this HiPhi - I am sure you will do a great job and your efforts are appreciated - as far as the template - the ones I have seen are volumous rather than reader/user freindly....I suggest a template in line with most of the growers' philosophy here at GP - friendly and simple (as in no unnecessary complications).

What about starting a Wiki instead? That way the information can be added to, corrected, and truly organized and enhanced with photos etc. I can give you more specific details on how to do this if you'd like. I have a lot of web master/administration experience on the design side, and would be happy to offer up some knowledge, tools etc. if you'd like. :-)

Bays got a good point Wikis have a lot of advantages and can be easily edited by a large group of people

The more I think about this, the more I like it. Time is always an issue for me though. Lets kkep this conversation going, can you site some examples for me to see? Do you have any (more) original ideas that we can incorporate into this too?

I like this idea. Everyone has time constraints and it would allow everyone to input in quick form. But of course it would take video to do this. Maybe down the road when things get quieter for vid-man.
