 Gender symbols?
Are gender indcators of some sort possible and do we want them? I'm finding the less frequent I'm on here and the number of new members...its harder for me to identify...       |

ints interesting not knowing... i for instance at first thought po was a guy... but its fun because you never know and you get a feel for the person rather than for the gender. it also makes us treat each other in a more equal manner.. just my opinion

I think it would sort of take away from the anononimity of our site. I f people want you to know who they are, then they will share....

People call me 'dude' all the time! LOL! Either it is NOT known that I am a girl or people don't think of a female being an admin here, so they just assume I am a man. I also confused several people in my journal as well. I find it strange that if you are an outdoor grower, they AS s u ME you are male. I am sure several have been red faced over it. I love the"hey dude! ***** great site ya got! hs it HANGIN' mang!" ones I get! i just laugh and thinks it funny. many women do not wish to disclose their sex as they have been treated badly being female growers on other sites or else have to deal with come on's or offensive connotations from male members. Now, not here. but I have seen it on other sites. I think it is up to the individuals and if they don't wish to be known as female, I don't care one way or the other. Peace

I notice some folks thought I was a female, with my original handle. I dunno, I just thought it would be a good option for folks to use instead of a public post to have to correct a misconception, by the community. I just thought I would throw the question out there. Never heard the topic come about it since I've been here. I suppose it would be best left to the member to let that info out, however they want. MysticGypsy, I never had a doubt...LOL! Peace. |
