the only problem with this site is that they don't list everyone they pull over, or catch at a dope house, that they flip on the spot and get to rat on people. That is the way they do most of they're operating anyway... I kinda have a problem with telling the general public who agents are as well, if its actually true. These guys are doing a job, and don't deserve any more danger or potentially death from doing what they are paid to do.
I really can't stand this one way street on LEO anymore. There are so many people dogging the cops and telling everyone how evil they are, I wonder if those same people will send away the "evil" cops when someone is holding a gun to their head robbing they're house. I wonder if anyone dogging law enforcement is willing to tell a cop not to bother if you're in a car accident and you need someone to call EMS for you because you may die without help. I think the attitude is bad, to generalize cops and DEA into a bunch of storm troopers who are just out to make you're life bad. They are doing a job, and if you don't want them doing "it" to you, then stay within the law, if you are outside the law then you should expect to have to deal with them at some point.
To me its the same as those dumba** people who let out the names of CIA operatives and thought that was ok. These men and women put themselves in harms way for people like you and me, its the job, and they do it willingly and often for not enough pay. How much would it take for one of you to risk your life for a stranger on a fairly regular basis... I bet its a lot more than they are making.

So enlighten us Operator...??? and be honest in your answer.... How do you FEEL when you are driving down the street and you spot a cop car?, or you are going about your business and all of a sudden there are flashing red lights in your rear-view mirror? I would hazard to guess it's not a pleasent feeling... Yeah, they got a job to do, but you and I both know they go into the job knowing ALL the real dangers to it and it is their choice. When the media and law enforcement (local, state, & fed) clean up their own, then I would be inclined to trust that there are just a FEW bad apples tainting the rest. But until the REST clean themselves up, they all be bad in my book. Brotherhood my butt.

Hmmmmm... Interesting thread. Good cop. Bad cop. Whatever. The point is, it's what we live with. Get next to it; a police force is necessary. Doesn't matter what I "feel" about it. A perfect situation will never exist with regards to law enforcement. What I have learned to do is live in my own world. Not the law dogs or anyone else's. No person or agency can dictate terms or hold power over the "inside man", my spirit, unless I allow it.
I accept the good I receive from the lawman and dodge the rest. To me, all things are lawful; however, not all things are expedient. In the same way that that lawmen know the risk of their profession, I know the risk of lovin' on Mary Jane.
I judge each person (to include a lawman) on known merit. I judge the whole of our current government's posture (and its use of law enforcement as a means to an end) on drugs as wrongful, inept and ineffective.
In as much as possible, without surrender, live at peace with all humans as individuals. That being said, screw the government and honor the hard working women and men who do their job with a clear conscience.
Thanks for listening to my personal opinion.

Either way we want to avoid any confrontations with LE0, when we are out and about in the real world, they have to be somewhere, so just be cool.
Online, here specifically, we want to be a positive example of cannabis enthusiasts/ medical marijuana patients. i believe part of that would be to restrict any type of "hate" speech. i'm not saying anyone here is, but after reading through, i thought it best to point that out and avoid any problems.
what if there was a cop here who lived in, say, California, and he was injured while on the job, or is sick, and they have been referred to MMJ. what happens if they register here, or just browse the forums as a guest out of curiosity. what do you think will happen if they read something negative about who they are. especially by people who claim to want to help others? if you think that is extreme and could not happen, think again.
there is even a pro-cannabis group that is made up of active or retired cops. read about them here. believe me, want people that are in these circles to be on our side!
thank you everybody for being awesome. now i'm gonna smoke a bowel.
listen to how remorseful some of these guys are!

ok... a little enlightenment then. Honestly, when I am driving down the street and suddenly I see the flashers on behind me, I think "what stupid thing must I have done to attract them". They don't show up for nothing, whether it be a marijuana raid, domestic violence, or a dui. I have a dui, and even then, while getting pulled over, I didn't curse the cops behind me, I cursed myself for doing something to draw them to me. They have a job, and I know they understand the risk, the point I was making is that nobody needs to have MORE risk with that type of job then is necessary.
Just because you haven't met a cop you liked (I'm guessing about ten or fifteen) doesn't mean they don't exist. I would challenge your narrow minded attitude to turn them away if, god forbid, you flip your car and need someone to pull you out and keep you breathing. You can't sit and judge based on your experience. They call that bigotry much of the time. To base a judgement of entire group on the experience you have with a few within that group is ignorant and narrow.
I live in a very urban area, where I, as a caucasian, am definitely the minority. However, I don't let my bad experiences with other minorities dictate my judgement on every individual of that color or creed that I encounter. I try to be a little open minded about things, especially with someone I may need to help me some day. I wonder if my words are even falling on ears that are open to the idea of open mindedness. Somehow I suspect that you're opinion, and I stress that word "opinion" on law enforcement will not change, until perhaps you need it to because it will work in your favor.
We all do things that are wrong, some more than others, and if the cops show up because of it then that should be expected on some level. You can't bad mouth a cop for showing up when it was you that brought their attention. To me that would equate to blaming an individual soldier for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan...

I actually found that quote on the back of a T-shirt (I bought it of course)... I thought about making it a tattoo but I think some quotes from Thomas Jefferson are going on first. Thanks also, I try to be involved in things I'm passionate about and first responders/cops are people I believe should be respected and admired, unless there is evidence of corruption of course.
My point was never that there are no bad cops, there are bad people everywhere, our job is to simply point them out, force them out, and not base bigotry or opinion on those individuals for the entire group.

The "I'm just doing my job" defense is, IMHO, who ha. Only other phrase which is a greater offense to my intelligence is "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you"
If we have to depend on LEO to protect us, we are really ****ed. Ever hear the saying, where are the cops when you need one? That saying didn't materialize out of thin air.
Why does the DEA and other LEO wear black?
The people who out CIA agents should be prosecuted, but even that doesn't happen, if it did then the recent ex-VP USA and his loyal staff should be buried in one of the lowest levels of a high security prison.
I'm not moved by an passionate plea for me to understand why LEO does what it does. The overall mandate is: "To Serve and Protect". To that I would ask.... To serve who and to protect who? Yes, there are extra ordinary circumstances where a member of the LEO will do something that is courageous, but aren't they getting paid to do that? I wonder how many times a member of the LEO, when confronted with a situation which could claim their lives just says "**** it, I'm not risking my life for them".
We see average citizens risk their life quite often to save people they do not know. A lot of the time, the good samaritan leaves the scene before they can be recognized for their act.
Do you think LEO are true patriots? Who are the true patriots? The LEO who taser's a 70 year old grandma for nothing? How about the activist student? (Don't tase me Bro).
We, the good ole USA, has more than 800,000 in jail for marijuana and the federal government (Bush era), looked you in the eye and said, "we don't arrest people for marijuana"...sorry but I have to call Bull ****.
Sorry Operator, but I'm not buying your arguments. You are entitled to your opinions, and I'll defend your right to speak your peace, but don't piss on my back and tell me it is raining.

Nobody here will debate the fact that the amount of marijuana related arrests are disgusting. Don't know why that was even a point.. but can you at least look up long enough to see that that is not the only thing cops do? I have nothing left to say, I made an educated, thoughtful argument, and you were not persuaded. So we agree to disagree.

I can understand where both of you are coming from. There are good cops out there, no doubt, but they have become the minority. It's common place for police to abuse their power and treat all of us like serfs and peasants. The past three or four times that I've spoken with police they've treated me unprofessionally. I always approach them with respect (and caution...some of them are more than a little trigger happy) and never become combative or defensive, even after they have revealed their thuggish nature.
The Police are supposed to protect (within reason) and serve the public. That's us, not some politician in Washington or a cheap suit who heads up some Multinational Corporation who's only goal is to profit at our expense. Our police have made the transformation from being civilian peace officers to para-military goon squads firmly in the control of the Federal government. All of us, from grand mom to Aunt Sally, have become the enemy. There is no more "gray" area, it's all black and white. Break the law and you will be crushed immediately. If you dare question a minion of the state (police officer) or are foolish enough to think freedom of speech still exists, then this is what you have coming to you:
There's no question the old lady was overbearing and ignorant but she didn't deserve to get electrocuted! It's a police officer's duty to keep situations from escalating like this yet the officer did the exact opposite and purposely fanned the flames. He never should have shoved the old women, (regardless if it was truly intended to keep her out of the path of oncoming traffic) he could have simply informed her of the danger and allowed her to move into a safer area under her own power. Instead, he shoved her back with much more force then was necessary and began screaming at her for a second time. Soon thereafter the cop mercilessly tases the the old women when he could have easily put the cuffs on her and placed her under arrest.
Tasers are supposed to be used as a last resort instead of using a firearm. They are only supposed to be used if an officer's life is in serious jeopardy. They were marketed to police forces all across the U.S. as an alternative to using lethal force on a suspect. Tasers were never intended (or were they?) to be used as pain/compliance devices. This situation never warranted the use of a taser and it is a blatant abuse of power. The tasing of innocent American citizens goes on everyday, all over the country and not in the way it was originally intended. Tasers have become pain compliance tools and the police are far too enthusiastic in their use of tasers.
This is exactly the type of behavior that I have warned people about for the past twenty years. Our police are no longer local boys with a stake in the community, they are outsiders who have been trained to look on all of us as the enemy. Our local police departments have been taken over by the Feds and have been fed a load of bullshyte in order to brainwash them into believing we are their enemy. Why do you think the police call us "civilians"? They're civilians too! They have been trained into thinking they are different and distinct from the citizenry which they swore (by the constitutional oath they took) to protect.
Here's a FEMA Agent training our police officers and teaching them that our Forefather's (George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, etc.) were nothing but bloodthirsty terrorists! Man! America has fallen so low and so far in such a short time!
Anyone who becomes a police officer and expects to be treated differently (put up on a pedestal) from the rest of us shouldn't have became a cop! They get paid for what they do and they knew the risks associated with their job before signing up. Anything beyond a sincere thank you to a police officer is a bad thing. They are paid to do a job and it's a thankless job for the most part. Some people become police officers in order to abuse others, some have a sincere wish to help the community by upholding our constitution and serving their fellow citizens. We need to encourage and support the good police officers out there and unapologetically prosecute and jail the bad police officers.
Liberty and Freedom hinge on men being politically and socially equal. As soon as people start putting others above themselves because of the type of work they do we have strayed from freedom and liberty and have wondered into dangerous territory. The garbage man is just as valuable as the police officer and the plumber is just as important as the fireman. As soon as we started treating the police like they were somehow special or better then the average American we took one more step into the darkness, away from the light of freedom and into the long shadow of tyranny and despotism.
I'm always happy to meet and talk with police officers that uphold and defend our constitution and respect our rights. I've met a few of them over the years and would love it if all cops were like this. There is no feeling of fear, no reason to be guarded in your speech when you're around a good cop. Because you know they aren't worried about petty bullshtye. They're much more concerned about keeping the peace then harassing a mellow pot smoker. They spend their time serving their communities by helping the people in the community. They look for the real problems and the real dangers and don't sweat the ridiculously small stuff.
They are the police we should be supporting, not the Nazi-like cops who drink from the tit of the Federal government and have been taught to hate us. If people are hating cops it's usually because said cops are abusing their authority and are acting like jack booted thugs.
Respect the police, hopefully they will return the favor. For the ones who don't, forget about them, they'll eventually reap what they have sown. Treat the good ones like you would treat any other public servant or person who promotes goodness in your community. Be happy if you live in an area where the police are doing their job and upholding the oath they swore to. If you live in a community (the vast majority) were the police have changed from being humble and friendly Peace Officers into Law Enforcement Officers:
The police are suddenly sporting fully automatic assault weapons, riding around in APCs, (Armored Personnel Carriers) dressed up in black paramilitary gear and look more like Storm Troopers then State Troopers (you can tell by the black masks, face shields and Nazi-styled helmets they wear) then you probably have a big problem on your hands. If your local police meet some of or all of the criteria mentioned above then you can be sure that they have been bought off by the Federal government and are no longer out there to protect and serve the public.
-the Corsican.
P.S.,
There is virtually no need for police officers in the United States to wear masks. I don't care about all the seemingly logical reasons and arguments for a heavily armed, masked, and unidentifiable police force. In the end the bad seriously outweighs the good in this specific area. The more this type of behavior is accepted by the American people the closer we are to living in an East-German Stasi-type Police State. A lot of Americans already feel we are living in the beginning days of the worst police state ever conceived. A police state so terrible and so powerful that it will make all past police states throughout history look feeble and amateurish in comparison. Personally, I have no idea but I don't like what I'm seeing. No. not one bit.
I have never met a DEA agent that I liked. I would be MORE than willing to trade my ability to ever rely upon the DEA for help in any manner of my life, if they would just go the eff away.
The city cops where I live don't bother me, they've seen me smoking weed on more than one occasion and its never even gotten to the point of them asking for my card. I mean they don't bother pot smokers here. The County Sheriffs are not quite that forgiving, but just about.
But the DEA, they can all die in a chemical fire as far as I am concerned, I wouldn't shed one tear.
operator1... I could not disagree with you more. First of all in a free society... which we no longer live in... a person has the freedom to get high if they want to. This society doesn't object to the idea of getting high as long as getting high supports corporate business. This society objects to people trading amongst themselves outside of the umbrella of the government. It's become a game of controlling the masses... thus enters the role of law enforcement. Law enforcement is less concerned with enforcing laws as they are protecting the rich. It's the rich that butters their bread. The rich want law enforcement so that the rich can control the poor. Laws are designed to take money from those that have little power to stop the money takers from taking their money. It's a game of control. The cops are pawns in this game, brain-washed into thinking they are doing society a justice or favor.
You don't see armed guards protecting hobo's right to assemble around a burning barrel to keep warm... but you will see armed guards protecting rich white men as they have secret meetings about ways to break laws to steel more money from the poor. I don't care the least about what dangers an officer might encounter when that same officer will arrest a woman for carrying a pocket constitution in her car. The video of this event is posted somewhere on this site. In my opinion you are guilty by association... if you align yourself with the people that are trying to control the masses you deserve whatever happens to you.
I surely don't condone the actions of posting the names of these people on the internet... but I don't condemn it either. This is a culture war we are fighting for whatever shred of freedom we have left. And I will not blame anyone for extreme behavior when our society is under such an assault that our very liberties are at stake. We killed many English soldiers during the Revolutionary War for less than we are enduring today. The very fiber of our free society is becoming extinct and people speaking empty lies of patriotism makes me want to vomit. A true patriot will stand up and speak up about the atrocities this government and it's law enforcement are bestowing against this nations people.
Not all cops are bad... just as not all people are bad... but most cops are stupid and / or ignorant about the law and the constitution the took an oath to protect. If they were students of the law they would behave much differently when confronting the public. Most are power drunk SOB's with no respect for humanity.
Look over your shoulder because the police state is right behind you and is about to overtake you. When it does... you can kiss your patriotic ass goodbye.

sounds a little hostile hooker... a point I would like to make about nobody standing about with guns protecting hobo's is that there aren't a lot of documented death threats against hobo's directly preceding they're assembly around a burn barrel. I agree that most cops can be a little ignorant, but I think a better phrase would be power drunk. They react to power much like any politician, once they get it, they tend to abuse it. I think also, if you look hard, most people are kinda dumb too, in one way or another, and to generalize one group and not another would be a little lopsided.
I like how a few folks have chosen to attack, however subtly, the patriot statement in my signature. I tend to think that blogging is what a lot of people do when they can't muster the nuts (can I say that) to go out in everyday life and act how they talk. I am the same here as everywhere else. I have seen the bottom of the barrel of the human race, and often times have felt bad for them in the end. The statement about killing english over far less then we are enduring now is a little strange also, considering these are far different times and most things are not handled with such disregard to human life as the were back then. I would challenge you to take the first shot in the revolution then if you think a patriot needs to act to be considered a patriot. I would prefer to speak, and influence, and educate people first... and if it ever comes down to it then yes, I will pick up a weapon and fight to protect what is good. I have no qualms about death, or standing up for what I believe until whatever end comes. I came to terms with who I am a long time ago, and I'm comfortable knowing that when I die people I know will remember me as a passionate man who always spoke the truth and didn't apologize for it, ever. I realize the police state is right behind me, and the rest of us in case you haven't noticed... what separates us from the masses of sheep is that we can see it coming and we have some end game in mind. That doesn't mean that physical fighting or confrontation is the best way to go about things. I can understand why cops confront the public the way they do... if you went to work every day and people hated you for it you would be stand offish too. They don't have disregard, they are jaded, as most people would be after seeing into the septic tank of society that they look into willingly everyday. I've worked in a hospital emergency room before, and I was jaded too after a while, couldn't care less about the poor sob coming in for another drug overdose. Was it right? NO, but that is what happens to many people in professions that force them to see the worst society has to offer.
I would like to know at what point I said that government and oppressive law enforcement was great as well... since that second to last paragraph seems to suggest that. I'm not now, nor have I ever been a fan of big government. I didn't like Bush and I don't like Obama either. Because of them this country will be unrecognizable soon. This argument seems a little narrow to me, almost like just because this is a marijuana related site this argument has to be about marijuana related things, and its not. The government doesn't like marijuana, been that way for a while now, but its getting better. You and everybody else knows that nothing in government happens fast, so you should know, that given enough time in this current direction we are moving, it will be legal, just maybe not in yours or my time frame.
This is not about you, or me, or anyone else. Its about perspective and perception. We just happen to differ on those things, thats all. I'm actually mad now, for the first time in this thread I'm pissed off and I can't honestly say why. I am mad thinking about government. Mad about the subtle attacks at my patriotism (fyi I'm a veteran so I wouldn't question my patriotism) and mad about people willing to hate cops but not willing to turn them away if they are getting shot at or need help with a car accident... you can't have your cake and eat it too with an argument that animated. It would be a shame to think of this while begging an officer of the law for help cause you are getting robbed or something, would be a little hypocritical.
I'm done............ maybe.

hey guys, this thread is getting a little heated. we have managed to avoid directly insulting anyone, but it is getting close.
i moved this thread to politics so there would be some wiggle room, but we need to maintain a healthy discussion while avoiding low blows. we need to respect all people, regardless of their profession.

Did you actually read my post? Or just skim over it. I did describe them as power drunk. Power drunk combined with stupidity or ignorance can be especially dangerous.
These times are not so different as back in the early days of the conception of this country. Except for two major differences. Most people back then believed in freedom and understood what freedom meant. And they were educated about government. They weren't brain washed by corporate media. Not to say that propaganda didn't exist... But people talked to each other in a personal manner... not like today... impersonally over an internet. The similarities are great... there are different political views as to the role of government. Some believe government should be involved in social issues while others believe they have no business there. To the extreme left of the political spectrum you have total tyranny... to the extreme right you have total anarchy. Given a choice between the two only... I choose total anarchy... at least you are free. You may not live long, but you will live free.
There is one concept I don't think you quite understand though. The police are paid to serve the public... so if I was bleeding on the side of the road from an accident I would hope I wouldn't have to plead with the officer to do the job I've paid so many hard earned tax dollars for him to do. AND!!! I never paid any of those taxes dollars for him to use Gustapo type tactics on a 72 year old lady because she wouldn't sign a traffic ticket. Why should I feel obligated to be thankful for police to "rescue" me when it's his job to do so... yet I have still only seen a cop help anyone that needed help only one time. Yet I have seen countless abuses of authority.
Oh... BTW... Being a veteran does not automatically qualify you as a patriot. It doesn't mean you aren't either, but it most certainly does not give you a free pass as a patriot. What it does mean is, you as a young man was thrust into a situation with a bunch of other young men just like you, experienced a bond with other individuals under extreme indoctrination. That's part of the brain washing... strip you of your individuality and force you to be dependent on your "brothers" for survival. Everyone does their job. In the process you learn to depend upon an "us against them" mentality. A blind trust in authority... you are taught, without it you will perish. None of this automatically qualifies anyone as a patriot. What you do take away from the experience is a sense of comradery and loyalty to a system. The system that is an enemy of humanity in my opinion. We live in a world where war is profitable and the brainwashing of our young men and women to support such an idea is in my opinion... hideous.
I never suggested we take up arms against the nation... such a task would be totally futile. We as a nation have been effectively disarmed. The weapons we possess that make us think we still have a second amendment right are but pea shooters compared to the armament of our standing army. In my opinion the second amendment means I have the right to bare an M1 Abram tank on my front lawn if I thought that is what it would take to protect my family and community.
I will say this... if anyone thinks waving the American flag is a symbolism of patriotism... they are sorely brainwashed by the propaganda machine. The American flag is just a flag... it has no meaning behind it. It is an object only. Those that think it is sacred have been taught to think they way the war machine has programmed you to think. The "Us against Them" lie that perpetuates death and destruction. It is nothing more than a marketing label or brand name. I don't believe the lie that the red stripes represent the blood spilled to protect our freedom. More war machine lies. Lies strong enough to rip young men from their families and send them off to lands to fight for the profit of men they do not know... and if they did know them they would never march for one step for them.
You say I sound hostile... perhaps... but I pale in comparison to the hostility of those that call themselves patriots.
