Sorry to hear about the ignorance at your work place. It's too bad so many people are just stuck in their own little bubble these days.

Well I have 2 standpoints here, one is.. im not proud of it but back in the days of "not giving a f**k" I ended up serving 16 mos. on a 2 year commitment in county back in Boston. I knew a lot of the skins only because there are just some rules you need to go by if you want your stay to be tolerable in there. I never "joined up" or associated with them any more than I had to but unfortunately in some jails, thats just the way it is. If your white and your hanging with spanish or black groups, or vice versa there are just going to be problems. Problems you wouldn't want. Thats just the way it is in there. It's not cool and I didn't see the point in it, but everyone really just stuck with their own race. So on that note and from my experience, yes.. I did see a lot of the skins sporting clovers and I did see a lot of association between the skins and clovers not just with tattoos, but drawings, symbols, and propaganda.

BUT.... on the flip side......

That was many years ago and Iv'e grown a lot wiser and gained a lot more respect for society. Now a days I stay out of trouble, grow some really good dope, and sling ink. I have been tattooing for 6 years now (plus 2 years as an apprentice) Every experienced artist will tell you the same thing, including me.....
"your tattoo means what YOU want it to mean"....
I can tell you that I have done and seen many of controversial tattoos on people that you could not even imagine being racist. There are so many people with spider webs, iron crosses (i have both) clovers, lightning bolts, all that... and they are most certainly the most un-racist people. (most of them) Your tattoo means what you want it to mean. And dont believe the movies... if you ever get locked up (knock on wood) your clover will NOT affect your stay there. I am very sure of that. You may be asked about it, but nobody is going to mess with you because your Irish and you have a clover tattooed on you. If anything, it might even gain you a little respect because your that proud of your race and everyone should be proud of their race......

hmmm, i wonder, is it just a survival mechanism within us that causes us to stick with our own race when put in a situation like that? i would love to hear a scientific point of view regarding this.

its also a relief to know that i would be okay in the big house, lol. though i hope to never be on the inside, lol.

i'm also glad everyone has been able to discuss this with an open mind and positive attitude.

The Shamrock isn't a racist symbol just like the Swastika isn't a racist symbol. The groups using those symbols perverted them and combined them with their hate. The great "unwashed masses" have been brainwashed into associating those symbols with racism. The same goes for anything dealing with European heritage. If you're brown or black you can be as proud as you like about your heritage but if you're a European you may as well forget about it because you are automatically tagged a white supremacist. Agendas are being pushed, billions are being manipulated and deceived and this is just another piece of the puzzle.

my take on this for what its worth, a reason the press are not as quick to print stories of black on white, crime maybe for 2 reasons, firstly political correctness, and secondly as they the press, are part of the system and as so have an agenda, that being divide and rule get the people fighting each other and then the babylon system will be safe, i.e people fightin each other will not have the time nor the inclination to right the wrongs that they are undoubtly dealt from the system. So they print stories of whites attacking blacks( gets the blacks angry) they seek revenge, dont print to much about the black on white crime but people still find out about it, they the whites get even more angry the result loads of angry citizens all fightin each other.And while im here what is it with arian groups/nazis the swastika is a hindu symbol the shamrock irish the indians and irish, now forgive me if im missing something here but these are two groups they arians and nazis despise yet they steal there symbols! the master race? come on get a life and while your at it get your own symbols without stealing from races you so despise! damn plebs

the thing that bothers me is the 'political correctness' of it. non-whites, for lack of a better, all inclusive descriptive word, have based all civil rights arguments on the fact that we are all created equal. this is true to a certain extent, but is not absolute. i do not mean racially, what i am trying to say is that some people are more athletically inclined or intellectual or both sometimes, so we are not all truly equal. if we were the world would be a different place altogether.
so my point is that if we are 'all equal', we should be treated equally, which means no discrimination on any level or any special treatment. the BS 'affirmative action' move is an example of what i mean. preferential treatment of any kind is bad either way.
