There is an organic form of mercury in flu shots. It is cleared from the body much faster than methylmercury, but who wants mercury of any form in their body? Before it was known that it is expelled from the body quickly, I did not get flu shots, and now that I know I am still not getting flu shots, but wouldn't be worried about getting one.

Thiomersal is what it is called, and the body metabolizes it into ethylmercury, C2H5Hg+.

Iv'e never gotten one and have been just fine so I think I'm gonna pass this year too. Getting sick of all this scare-mongering! Is there a vaccine against the media??

I agree. Fear mongering, nothing more. I've never had a flu shot (maybe when I was very young but I can't rightly remember) nor will I start now.

Yeah, turn off your television and cancel your Internet service. Don't listen to radio and when driving don't look at billboards or the bumper stickers on other cars. Stop reading magazines, product labels, don't dare talk to passerbys and move out into the wilderness! You might be able to avoid the media for a few minutes!

It is all a prep for the real pandemic. First SARS and bird flu, just to set the mood. Then the swine bird human flu hybrid pandemic, nice and easy to track. Started at a super spreader, Mexico, with massive global contraband traffic. Plus global tourism and business. See how far it spreads, how effective it is.

Familiarise people with the inevitable 'pandemic', use the 'swin flu' as a cover for vaccinating essential workers, medics, army, powerworkers, pregnant women, what ever and etc. Vaccinating them against the next real killer.

Wait a respectful time, and unleash the real flu, probably from Mexico, it worked well on trial run. De-population like a harvest of corn, and still left with the key workers and law enforcement to keep 'them' in the style to which they have become accustomed.

Well, its been pretty gloomy the past few days here, that may have something to do with it. The child of today is asthmatic, I have one child that is asthmatic also. My child isn't real bad with it, but I'm giving him preemptive steroids. They have class together so... I think we will do fine, we eat lots of garden foods, going here in a little bit to stock up on orange juice and fever reducers. It does seem to be spreading like wildfire here though.

Doesn't that mean you can refuse it and just be quarantined?

I think quarantined means a lot more then they let on. You'll basically be a prisoner and I wouldn't expect the accommodations for those who refuse the vaccine will be anything near comfortable. The vaccines have been rushed through and lots and lots of health workers are even refusing to take it. I don't think it's anywhere near safe and my children won't be getting it.

The worst part is the unconstitutionality of the whole thing. You have the right to refuse medical treatment even in the event of a pandemic virus. Certain U.S. states are violating the Nuremberg laws concerning experimental medical treatments. The vaccine hasn't been proven to be safe.

ironically, one of the doctors where i work said today that he advised against taking the vaccine, though he didnt cite the reason why(i overheard the conversation).

cured it with rasberry cough syrup, excercise and lots of fruit. blus the usual meals...

im still here im pretty glad to say. same as i have been over the past couple of years with no flu shots. but thats just me. everyone should make up their own minds

As usual, just an informational link to a very eye opening course of events leading to such widespread paranoia about vaccination. Bringing my usual "slant" to the discussion. People I admire very much in the political commentary sphere have their doubts about vaccine safety, etc. I have been wrestling with the idea myself, I was sort of on the fence. My firm opinion, at this point, is I am going to get a vaccine. Any recommended tested vaccine that has the scientific medical community's endorsement. And I will definitely not deprive my child of their efficacy. I will investigate all testing procedures that lead to their certification, but outside of that, all fear about the detriment of thimerosal, or any other component of vaccine's in general, as being a substantial consideration against vaccination, is artificial. I have taken a few days to examine some things about this, and it was very surprising to me to see the etymology of this idea laid out in a cohesive chronology. Ideas that I've held , including doubts, suspicions, and the like have all been third hand accounts, and I realized I had no credible evidence to make a claim against vaccination, so that was the corroboration I was looking for. It turns out, I would have been wrong to make such a claim, and I'm glad I did my homework. As with everything that the game "telephone" engenders, there is such a vast amount of information out there that is potentially contradictory of claims made. I suggest taking the time to read this article, and to check the claims against your own suspicions. And check the claims against Google, Wikipedia, The embedded reference links, etc. But I stress it should be read and examined at length, when you have available time to do so. It completely solidified my ideas on this one. do I think that vaccination should be mandatory, well, it kind of is already. For public school admission, anyhow. But for adults? I can't go that far, I still think liberties outweigh most other things at this point, but I think an examination and correction of the misinformation on this subject is paramount, the controversy is staged. It is completely artificial. That is the scariest part. All of the arguments against vaccination stem from deliberate attempts to bolster civil cases that were complete invention. Or at least that is the basis. There are so many layers to this, it is important to start with a factual basis. So I urge everyone to read this link article when they have the time to do so at length, and to put it's claims to the test. Research the information put forward.
