The warmonger Obama is awared a price for upholding the world peace. For what, dragging the war in Afghanistan into Pakistan, keeping the troops in Iraq, replacing the stationary "Missie Defense System" (an aggressive weapon in nuclear tactics as it takes the opponent power to retaliate in the event of an attack) in East Europe and rather build a big mobil one which is a steep up again (can be seen similar to the position of subs that can lunch missiles attacks suddenly and aren't fixed to positions). Currently he is busy on breaking lose a preventive war against the sovereign Iran under the false pretext of nuclear arms development which the Iran stopped in 2003 (don't be fooled by the latest touched up reports of CIA and IAEA, they have no new results that would indicate anything illegal and the second facility was public knowledge since 2006). And now this peaceful fellow was awred with the Noble Peace Price, that got to be a damn bad joke?! on the other hand, a peace awared by one of the biggest arms manufacture of these days, yeah right...

Marc would rather make some sense in my eyes as he at least donated most of his earnings to the cause of ending prohibition worldwide and this would pacify the world for a good bit after all and sure did more for world peace then Mr Warmonger Obama.

At the risk of being an over simplistic foreigner

The rest of the world didn't get a chance to vote for the world's cheif of police... if we had most of us would have voted for Obama... if there was another election tomorrow, and we got a vote, I personally would still vote for Obama.

He has a fine line to tread, his heart is in the right place, and his objective is to stay in long enough to make changes.. as mentione in aother thread.. he deserves the nobel prize just for the supreme effort he made getting elected in the first place, anything else will be a bonus.

As he said recently: "for some people the government can never do anything right".. well we are stuck with him, so lets hope he gets a few things right. For me, even though I am never likely to go to let alone live in the USA, I am hoping that if nothing else he sorts out your public health services... how can a civilsed world leading country still be denying its people good health care, free at point of use? The mind boggles it really does.

Well, the Special Olympics one is hilarious. I don't think it's true, at all. But, it's hilarious.

I completely agree about censorship. However, I do believe in moderation. I'm ok with people saying almost anything, as long as they can say it without being rude or insulting. People shouldn't use free speech as an excuse to be cretins.

I am curious, did Hitler really give great speeches... I must get a translation, I have always been curious about what it was he said that so grabbed the German population. I note that Hitler did not win the Nobel Peace Prize. Those cartoons are funny, but very sad at the same time, if that is possible.

Yes, he really did give great speeches. Most American Journalists that went to Germany to see him speak remarked as such.

Personally I believe that to compare someone like Obama to Hitler is to greatly belittle the horrible things which happened during WWII.


As far as Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize, I see this more as a repudiation of Bush than as an award for Obama. They are giving their approval for the change in course from Bush policies while at the same time hoping to coax Obama into a more peace oriented agenda.

Hitler's main gift was oratory... he practiced in front of large mirrors.

I don't think the translations will do you much good. So much of what is said in his speeches was nuanced, subtle use of language. I don't speak German. But, this is what the experts say. Like all good speakers, he connected with people on a visceral level, using language to strike deep chords of emotion.

It isn't far fetched to throw in Obama with Hilter if you ignore their skin color and rather look at their politics and speeches which have far too much in common. It is like with Israel, they might not actually gas the Palestinians yet but their actions still don't differ from the "Lebensraum" idea and politics of the Nazis. Might not be political correct to draw this liking but never the less that what it is.

Couldn't agree more about Palestine, it is to aweful to bare. Surprised about Obama, don't really see the connection, other than they both apparently make good speeches, have charisma or what ever the correct expression is. I certainly know more about Hitlers politics than I do about his actual speeches. Can't see it myself, but maybe I am too far away.

I agree with 9651A.. on Obama getting the prize.. I think he got the Peace Prize because he's not Bush .. becasue they (the prize commity) want to show the USA that we can have a leader who will ( maybe he hasn't gotten there yet.. but Bush never even tried) try to show the rest of the world that all american are not some dumb rednecks who live on a ranch in Crawford TX. who only care about money and war...
