I lost a good friend because of an idiot on a cell phone.
I'm so feed up with idiots that have to flap there mouth on there phones while driving.
I lost a good friend because of an idiots on a cell phone.
I refuse to ever get a cell phone till the law is ZERO use of phones while driving goes into law, not to mention the fktards texting, take a look at the clip.

I agree with you that they are distractive as hell, but the real problem is the user here again. I mean you have to be hit with sudden stupidity if you start texting while driving, or is such plain silly behavior otherwise to explain? and besides the cell phone there are many other distracting factors in modern cars as the GPS or let take the sterio and folks fishing for lost CDs under the passenger seat while doing 65 on the highway before ending their sorry lives in the rear of some truck. And since we can't outlaw stupidity, laws won't change a thing.
We should rather return to the old: "Think before you act" approch.

I don't have a cell, don't beleive in them really. My daughter did have one, but an 900$ bill one month guranteed I will never pay for hers again...ever!
I truely don't see why they are needed. Just don't get it.
Remember the old days where if you needed to make a call you'd pull over to a pay phone? bring back more pay phones!
One of the other reasons not to have a cell phone is the government spying and tracking our moves.
Maybe I should get a Cell Phone Signal Blocker Device that when I'm close enough to them, 25 yards or so I can knock out there phone use dead.
Of course get caught with one and get fined because you could be blocking out police and fire

They were to start a ban on hand held units up here in Ontario Canada tomorrow. Then today they decided to hold off for a month to add texting as well. I believe they will allow hands free devices.
I agree with Green on the stupidity of some drivers and don't blame devices but the users actions. Some folks can't walk and talk while chewing bubble gum. So smoking and drinking a coffee could certainly be too much for some drivers, add phones, gps, radios, cool looking dashboard lights, whamo.
Be considerate to others while operating any moving vehicle. It's a weapon if you are careless it's that simple.
I don't own one either and some of the driving I see happen when they are in use, scares the heck out of me! My sympathies to you, Lumix and to your friend's family.

Also sorry for you, I think until people get their licenses suspended for driving like the self absorbed pieces of **** they are (hello, reading a book while driving?) nothing will change. Oh but lets arrest someone for smoking pot in their own home!

Sorry for your loss. It is scary driving these days! WHY DON'T PEOPLE JUST USE COMMON SENSE?? It's like closing your eyes while driving!! And I doubt it will ever stop. They should have thought about this before they sold them all and got everyone's money! Ack! I gotta go smoke and calm down a bit!
Yea BO finally did the right thing by passing this law, now get it down to the public level, a new origination like MADD is being forum to combat the idiots out there on there stupid cell phones. Texting While Driving Banned for Federal Workers
Some one told me today, and I don't know how true it is,, It supposedly is against the law in my state, Maine, to drive while, on the phone, eating, putting makeup on.... All should be obvious of course, My sister who will have a van full of her screaming kids while in a snow storm, she will be on her cell phone, I have told her time and again how she scares the hell out of me... I just don't get it,,,

They should crack down on anyone that is distracted while driving. I have seen people shaving, brushing teeth, and the best is putting on make up using the lighted vanity mirror of course while driving in traffic.
Pretty sick and stupid but boy will she look smoking dead!
Not to sound like a hipocrate, but as a past DUI offender! I totally agree with passing any law that stops or limits the use of hand held cell phones.Sorry but I can't really count how many times I have felt more at risk from the other driver who was yakking away! or tap the keypad and forearm steering! than I have anyone else!
