Wow, I hate republicans... you know if sombody came out with a study that proved Pot contributed to abstinance every baptist in american would be handing out bags and bongs... Check the Netherlands teen Pregancy rate? far less then our own, There STD rate, again on average far lower then our own. They just want us all to think that a single plant which can do so much, is responsible for the break down of law and order, when amsterdamn is a city like any other. Put Chicago and Amsterdamn side by side, and where would you prefer to live???

Smoke them in good health
Joe
This has nothing to do with Republicans or Democrats and the most notorious drug warrior been no Republican but the Democratic President Clinton on which we can blame today's million US citizens behind bars for a little pot.
Okay, the stereotypical Rep. keeps on calling for tougher BS laws and the Dem. calls for even tougher one's to not appear "weak/soft on crime". But as a matter of fact if you look for someone in congress that is actually hard working on ending the prohibion you have to figure that this is no one else but the Texas Republican Dr. Ron Paul. Take his hemp farming bill as one example or his clear statments during his presidential campaign
Is that a Rep you could vote for Joe?

Rep or Dem... 2 sides, same coin.
I'd vote for RP in a heart-beat, not as a Rep. but as an individual whom I can agree with, period.
It's still amazing to me how well the 2 party system works at keeping us down and how "we" keep jumping into the beliefs being used to keep us under control.

Yeah, it always makes me laugh to hear potheads talk politics. If we just voted for Democrats we would have free pot, and a chicken in every pot, and a pot to piss in! Wake up America! The Democrats are nothing more than low-rent Republicans. What we need is a viable third party.
Also, the Baptists care nothing about pot. They are only concerned with stomping out faggotry. They could care less what you put in your mouth, just as long as you don't put it in your ass.

LMFAO! I think it was the politically section that first brought me out of the shadows as well. Welcome to the site wlurker and rest assured, despite these political threads, you've landed yourself amongst a pretty damn good group of peoples!
That opening comment reminded me of a line I heard on Glenn Beck last night (I flip between Fox and MSNBC to try and get an overall idea WTF). He showed a black lady at Obama's Pres run convention, an overplayed piece of media, to be sure... where she said something to the effect of "He's gonna put gas in my car and pay off my mortgage. I'm helping him and he'll help me!" Most of us laughed at her ignorance at the time... but now, not so sure who's really been ignorant.
sorry... back on topic. When I first got on the web, back in the early/mid 90's... I ran across a young lady from Amsterdam in a chat room. Being new to the idea of having conversations with people form all different areas of the world... I asked her about weed in her area. She casually commented that she could go down to the corner store and buy it any time, but she didn't partake and had real trouble understanding our (Americans) fascination with it. It was an eye opening experience for me, at the time.

High Pepe`.. all..
I agree exactly..
I see>>>>>>>>> Peoples Party... Palin & Paul! 2012..
Politics aside, it really points out the sensationalism in modern media. Every story is "OMFGZ!1!!!! OH NOZ!1!!!!!". Check out the words used, "anarchy", "cesspool", "run amok", "everything is out of control", "exploitation".
High 4m! Not to informed on Palin beyond the media circus. If Paul will run with her, I'd take a closer look.
Great point TrainW... the same "panic" tactics that were used to push the Patriot Act over on us, was twisted and wrapped around the Financial mess and continues on in as many re-invented ways as they can get away with. Like a dog with a bone... it worked for Bush and was handed off smoothly to Obama and they'll keep selling it for as long as we're buying it.
