As you may already know, I am not suppose to smoke...anything.
You may also be aware of the fact that I cook alot with pot, god how I love my pot brownies! My problem is that there appears to be a drastic difference in my pot butter. Using more buds, rather than using leaves I've trimmed during a grow, does not necessarily mean a better product at all.

My last butter, I used about 100 grams, half being top notch bud, and half was from trimmings. While it was good, one brownie would get you high for all day, the after effects really sucked. It was like having a hangover for 3 days! Not a good thing at all. I did get caught up on my sleep though. (cured my insomnia)

So I want to try my hand at making THC pills, I've ordered 500 empty size 00 Capsules, and have done my research on how to make em, but something dosent sit right in my mind.

Everything recipe I've read is the same, place pot in grinder, than pour into a bowl, and add some oil, to form a paste. Than fill your capsules.

What has me curious is, if I do indeed add the oil, wouldn't that cause the gelatin capsules to soften and maybe even melt?

Why not just skip the oil? It seems to me they would last longer that way.

The oil makes the thc soluble so your body can absorb the thc and thus you gets high.


I have thought about trying this as well.

I just quit smoking cigarettes 8 days ago.
I seem to be compensating by smoking more weed.

I would like to have an option to where I did not have to smoke.
Or to be able to take these special gel caps to work or on trips where I will not have the time or place to smoke.

As you say from expierence in eating something baked with weed seems to be much more intense and stays with you all day.

I am hoping to titate the level of "high" by using these gel caps.

As for the melting the gel caps.
I have heard to use olive oil. I would probably use EVOO. I would think almost any oil would work.

I would also want to have the weed absorb the oil as to not have a wet feeling but an almost dry paste.

Maybe some time should be allowed for the weed to absorb the oil. Maybe a press of some sorts could be implented.

Idea: How about using HasH instead and mixing it with oil to put in the gel caps. I would probablly use the kief from the kief collector in the grinder I am about to buy.

Funny, I should run across this post. Last night, I baked 1 bud. Just a couple of grams. At 325 deg. for 5 minutes. I added a few drops of olive oil and put it into capsules. My wife took 2. She slept very well.

You baked it huh? did you add the oil before or after?

After. I drizzled it on the bud. Doesn't take much. It was very wet and messy, getting it into the caps.

HAHAHAHA i just LUV EVOO on my SAMMIES its DELISH and YUM!

PS i am a pathological liar, and have illusions of grandeur. I post pictures of pot plants i found on the internet and i have never nor will i ever consider the cultivation of marijuana, as it is illegal.

So, by chance Pappy based on your experience, if I filled abounch of capsules, wouldn't that cause the gelatin capsules to soften and maybe even melt?

I just checked them. They are still capsules. I don't think the oil will be a problem.

Could you, wuld you run a test on one pill, for say like a week?
See if it's still viable after a week?

I would be glad to. I was worried about that, when I made them. I wonder if they should be stored in the fridge, or just in the dark.

well you would have to transmit the THC from plant form to activated form by the use of some heat probably - then you would have to extract the active THC from the plant material and then somehow transfer it to a stable form, like granulating it into a carrier medium like milk sugar or calcium compounds that would enable you to fill it into your capsules again... and you have to watch that you must be still able to keep it absorb by your body - so for example in some sort of of fat or oil - why not even hemp oil if you can get some.

no they wont melt,i have done it just make sure to keep them in the fridge cuz when they get warm the tend to leak.

I figured a pharmacy. I just can not think of what I would tell them If they asked me what I am using them for.
