chlorophyll is the culprit here!!!
things needed:
-blender
-2 cloths for a strainer
-slow cooker
-colander
-plastic storage container
-bowl (fairly large)
-double boiler

ingredients:
fresh frozen buds and sugar trim(about 1.5 oz).......buds@trim cant be dried
honey (1 tbs)
nutmeg (small dash)
vanilla extract (1.5 tsp)
ginger (1/2 tsp)
allspice (small dash)
unsalted butter(1 lb)

put bud and trim(still froze) in blender
cover with water
blend for 30 secs(getting rid of that terrible c word)
use colander with cloth strainer inside of it run liquid through separating(ring cloth)
put plant matter in slow cooker
cover with water
add butter

bring this to a boil,then turn to low setting and let simmer for 16-24 hours.add water if necessary.
when dark oil patches appear on top its finished, also the plant material will have a grey color.
place colander with second strain cloth in large bowl
pour mixture through (ring out cloth)
place in freezer or fridge until butter appears at top
drain water from butter
heat butter on low heat on stove,in double boiler, add ingredients
stir till all is melted
return to fridge, stirring once in a while, till it solidifies

enjoy,great on toast,and in baking!!plant matter varies depending on potency and your liking.

i dont see how running the weed in the blender gets rid of chloraphyll? the only way i can see to get around this is to use blonde hash.

i probably stand to be corrected,but because of the agitation and then the heating of the water,in the crockpot,i guess its similer to water curing mj.anyway here is a post from another site,explaining water curing:

Unlike other curing methods, the water cure is performed after the marijuana is dried. Powder and small pieces are most often used, but the cure also works with whole colas. The material is piled loosely in a glass or ceramic pot which is filled with Luke-warm water. (When hot water is used, some of the THC is released in oils, which escape and float to the top of the water.) Within a few hours many of the non-psychoactive water-soluble substances dissolve. An occasional gentle stirring speeds the process. The water is changed and the process repeated. Then the grass is dried again for smoking.

THC is not water-soluble; so it remains on the plant when it is soaked. By eliminating water-soluble substances (pigments, proteins, sugars, and some resins), which may make up 25 percent of the plant material by weight, this cure may increase the concentration of THC by up to a third.

Marijuana cured by this method has a dark, almost black colour, and looks twisted and curled, something like tea leaves. The water cure is frequently used to cure dried fan leaves and poor-quality grass.

it makes sense. with the production of any drug you always have some solvent that can break down the substances and bond with them and later evaporate leaving a concentrated amount of whatever u are breaking down (be it opium, mj, or cocaine). Usually these are water and heat, alcohol (ethanol, methanol, ethyl acetate), acetone, chloroform, benzene, or toulene. to name a few.

You could use any of these to break down MJ. If you go to the Sensi seeds site and click on the Medical Cannabis tab it brings you to a documentary of a guy that was curing cancer with MJ oil. Breaking it down with alcohol and heat.
