Rep Power: 2340 | | Easy Ganja Butter
Hey, made some butter and thought I'd share the recipe I used with ya all.
I started with 2-3 oz's of well dried shake.
This was placed into a stocking and the end tied off.
Filled a large bowl 2/3rds water and 2 lbs of butter and a little cooking oil.
The stocking is placed into the water/butter and bought to a boil, than simmered for about 5 hours, with the top loosely in place to allow steam to escape.
After this, take the stocking and wring it out, than take the pot and refrigerate it for several hours.
The butter will harden and float to the top for you to scrape off and use.
Thats it.....your done!
I should add a few points, the shake that I use, is the leaves I've trimmed during my last grow. I always save these. I place em into a champagne bucket, and allow em to dry thoroughly, about a month or two. There are quicker ways, but I'm never in a hurry. You can add bud to this if ya want.
Also, I am making brownies as we speak, I'll report back and tell ya how they were.

Yeah, from all I've read, 5 to 6 hours is best.
I'm new at making the butter though, I always just grinded it up and tossed it right in the brownie mix. Problem is the wife hates the taste.
I gotta admit this is much better, now that I've sampled it. I ate one brownie at 6:30am today, it's 3:30 now and I'm still toasted, nice energetic high too!

Yup yup
Cooking with canabutter gives a more intense high than smoking weed; as you would not be able to smoke enough to match the thc content in the butter in comparison.
Thanks Video. It had not occured to me to use stockings like a tea bag.
Seems like it would take alot of the mess out of my technique.
I agree with the 5-6 hours. I have done 8 hours before in a crockpot.

It is a different high too, all that ails you, is suddenly feeling fine, no pains at all.
Feeling on top of the world. Very energetic high too.
One brownie, ate at 6:30am kept me high all day long, til 11pm.
Same effects on the wife too.
So far as using the teabag midgrade, trick is to try to wring out the stocking while it is still, atleast warm, if not hot. I let it sit for 5 minutes, than I used a plastic shopping bag as a glove to wring out any excess butter remaining in the stocking.
I would recommend this method to everyone, you gotta try it atleast once.
Peace

Video:
Is this something that is "UN-aromatic" enough I can do it on the kitchen stove? Or...should I do it in the garage with a propane stove?
I've got all the leaves from my first grow drying in a bucket...doubtful if those 6 plants had 3 oz. dried leaves though...I'll have to weigh it out and see.

Where I am, it is very secluded, sorry, this method certainly does smell.
Think how if you are making spaghetti sauce, and you simmer it for hours, the smell, soon fills the entire house. (its mostly the garlic)
Same deal here, only your simmering pot trimmings, and the house will smell.
It's more because of the time involved, remember your simmering for 5 hours.
If you got neighbors, they will know what your doing! Take precautions.

so you used like 2-3oz of pure hash for this?! or did you use the material you kept from harvest trimming in total - without shaking the tricomes off first by what ever method?

You used trimmings? I was going to use buds. Didn't care for a certain strain so thought this would be a good use. Do you think about an ounce of bud is comparable to 3 ounces of trim?

Okay I made a little mistake. I used the wrong jar. I used my good bud :(
But it really good. About 2 hours before midnight on new year's I gave some to our dog's. They stress very bad when people shoot guns. Usually run and hide. But this time they just slept right through it. All three of them on their couch out cold.
So this great for dogs too. They stress out just like we do.

It is probably a good idea to get the ingredients out ahead of time if you do this stoned. I learned that the hard way. Hehehehehehehe
