This thread is in the humor dept. because George Carlin was about the funniest man I ever watched on TV or anywhere else.
The world is a better place because of him, and I'm sure he'll be raising hell in heaven soon. Hope they know they just got one of our best. Award-winning comedian George Carlin dies - CNN.com

what a drag, no more Hippy Dippy weather man.
George and i share a birthday and many appetites. i think it was learning to control those appetites that allowed us both to live this long.
Vaya con dios George!

The local Catholic cemetery has a grave of a priest, named George Carlin. I discovered this about 15 years ago, and always planned on sending a pic to GC. He would have enjoyed sharing his name with a Catholic priest; his routine, "I started out as an Irish Catholic". But, being such a stoner, I kept putting it off. Now, it's too late.
He was my favorite comedian/eye opener, of all time. I always thought that he must me Mark Twain, reincarnated.
R.I.P. George.

When I was a kid my dad was a big fan of Lenny Bruce. As a young teen I started listening to George Carlin. My dad liked him also as he seemed to have the same comic disdain for power and hypocracy. I remember going to a concert that George gave when I was about 14...He signed a copy of the biography of Lenny Bruce my father gave me...In the last few years George was more into writting than live performance...but his books sparkled with the same keen wit and nose for bullshit as his live shows...He looked at the world and shinned a light on the unquestioned assumption underlying our language and society...quite and accomplishment...all the more because he made us laugh while doing it...RIP George...and thank you
