Default The Shamanic Tradition

Anthropological studies among "primitive" peoples reveal a consistent pattern of Shamanism around the world and throughout history. This is due to the universality of man's quest for knowledge and the need to explain things and events beyond our control. It seems human society requires someone who voyages beyond this physical world into the mystical realms on a quest for knowledge. These courageous individuals often find the truth that underlies the illusion we accept as reality. The awareness they bring back sheds light upon our petty mortal existence and puts into perspective humanity's hopes and failings. In these "primitive" cultures, the Shaman is a powerful figure, often acting as a balance to the tribal chief, who would often need to consult the shaman for important decisions.
There's always been a need for the shaman, but now more than ever, our society is losing touch with our greater purpose. Unfortunately, rather than embracing the shamanic message, our society seeks to suppress it and those who would delve into those realms beyond social control. Perhaps there is an intuition among the powerful that their power is based upon maintaining a false illusion about the nature of reality. The Shamanic Message shatters this illusion, and therefore is seen as a threat. Mind control has become a very important tool to keep the masses productively in the system. The Shamanic tradition releases those mental and cultural bonds we acquire, allowing us to see our own true nature, freed from cultural programming.
Despite political, moral and legal pressures, modern society has produced a number of shamans who with the help of psychedelic substances (part of the shamanic tradition) have broken through the social program and brought back an important message for those of us with open minds. Many of these Psychedelic Shamans have had to go public, using modern media, to get the message out. The most vocal of these have been vilified by the powers that be, in an attempt to squelch their message. This webpage honors those brave enough to face public ridicule by openly acknowledging their shamanic status and encouraging others to become shamans. We must spread their message so everyone can be motivated to free their minds. In the immortal words of Timothy Leary, we must "turn on, tune in and drop out". Only with greater awareness of our special place in this enormous universe can we hope to save our species from the inevitable result of unbridled materialistic greed.

my friend you have touched a subject that i am as passionate about as cannabis and other psychadelics....

yes our society is missing something, the shaman, druid, spiritual healer, medicine man.. whatever you would call him. instead we are peddled diseased and dying religions with hardly anything in them for us except the most basic message of peace and love.

sadly our society has learned over the centuries to shun these people as crazy or downright evil. they are making a comeback though as people realize what two millenia of roman and the christian occupation has taken away from us.

on the bright side, there are collectors of folklore out there, there are collectors of other lore, like lealing remidies and other things that for millenia has been dubbed and sadly continues to be labeld as heathen and witchcraft, as demonic and satanic.

the church has tried for tht long to erase from western tradition all reference to the old lore, the stories, the spirits of the trees, forests, streams and rock formations, has turned these into imaginary saints. but traditions persist though we now dont fully understand them anymore, but we will, and this will heal us and our environment. this connection we lost with nature is slowly returning. and hopefully christianity will onday return to its humble origins. our current religions alienate us from nature, for some reason they teach that we, Man, are above nature in the realm of demi-gods. this is stupid. we are as much a part of nature as a rock.

and saddest of all, they tried to eliminate all this knowledge. knowledge that had come all the way from the origins of man infact. in western society there is a gap of two millenia between us and prehistoric man. thats over 50 000 years of knowledge and understanding, 50 000 years of a connection with the earth we walk on that has gone down the drain. knowledge of the trees, the wind the grass. knowledge of the spiritual plants, of healing, of nature. knowledge for example of the holy places, where the man and nature are closest. this ancient knowledge was our connection to our most ancient ancestors, to what they thought, to waht they believed, and its almost gone.

this makes me exteremely sad. our society has become so alienated from nature, that there are kids out there that have no idea where their food comes from! if that isnt sick then i dont know what is. and then we look down upon 'lesser' undeveloped societies? why? they may be backward technologically, but they understand nature, they understand their surroundings, THEY UNDERSTAND MAN PLACE IN NATURE. we send anthropologists to study tribes deep in the jungles? we shoud compare them with ourselves and figure out what is missing in our society rather than try to boost theirs WITH GARBAGE.. they happen to be spiritually way more advanced than ours. their shamans regularly travel the DMT path and 'speak' with the elders whilst we buy tv's and junk that ends up on some astronomically huge pile of other junk and poison ourselves.

we poison ourselves and dont realise it,... hopefully someone will clean up our mess in the future? yeh right. the most stupid bit of this is that we poison ourselves with so much crap, be it through a tv set or, carbon dioxide and other shit nature so carefully stored away deep in the earth where it wouldnt harm us, and we are worried about a plant that people smoke, or DMT people take trips on, and LSD and salvia and a whole lot of other usefull plants and compounds that are labed poison when we KNOW that they are not.... why this obvious contradiction?
as compound they may be toxic at certain levels but isnt burning coal and petrol? this is what we have inherited. stupidity, and feer of everything? why because this knowledge was controlled by the shaman, was dispensed by the shaman. now we have no shaman, no rituals in which to incorporate these compounds. so they become illegal because people 'abuse' them. even psychiatrits that were using them, and studying them, creating a working knowledge of their usefullness (much like the healers we no longer have) have been prohibited from continuing their studies. and by who? by the most ignorant people on the planet, our political leaders. who havent the slightes idea of anything other than nothing. these people play at leadership much like we used to play and nurses when we were kids. they are ignorant yet they have the power to prohibit a psychiatrist or a scientist, with years and years of study from looking into these matters. stupid!
and modern society is decaying anyway, yet they hold onto it like it was life itself.

these guys warn us, send us messages. and do our leadres listen? no. our leaders are burocrats, more interested in turning a profit than healing. and why? beacause the shamans in our society are either gone forever os marginalised as idiots.

this is sad. and seriously pains me to see this.
our leaders should be shamans or at the very least have some sort of formation in the spiritual. instead they have neither any understanding of man nor nature for that matter. as i posted somewhere else.. they seem to forget everything they learn in school about nature for example, geography is forgotten.

they are greedy. that saddens me.

what we should do is gather the people with the knowledge, the old lore and the new, the old stories and the new, the musicians, artists, storytellers, the environmentalists, the scientists, the biologists and very importantly, if all of the above arent already the psychanauts, thios ethat travel the path unseen to most and demonised for so long. and recreate our society.

we need to change, or we are dead.
