interesting concept, though i can sit on my arse and think about food as much as i want but if i dont work for it theres no way in hell that i'll be eating anytime soon

It is more about your mind and how you draw things to you, Ileso. I have the movie and have read the book. I know it has that money and power thing for many people, but to me, it is more about using the power of your thoughts to draw to you what the universe offers you, and to be open to it. I swear it brought me to buying the site and to many many different changes in my life. It can be pretty incredible if you do beleive it. We still have a fake "100,000" dollar bill hanging over our bed. And to me, of course it is not about the money, but about being successful in your pursuits in life, and not letting your own self doubt stop you from making your dreams a fact.
Peace

still.. it doesnt change much in my view. for some to rise others have to fall cause theres not much space at the top... so in that sense its not much use...
ok maybe it give some people something to hold onto, and a bit of self confidence..
but it doesnt fix anything, and its not really a secret...
ok i a sceptic of this sort of thing.. its like mysticism and human greed all rolled into one. ok and i stopped watching when the wavy things started coming out of peoples heads... really?!

"The Secret" may very well give self confidence to people, which perhaps they need to be successful. But simply thinking about something will not make it so. When this video first hit the internet, I did my own test with it, using the video's own suggestion. I thought about empty parking spaces right where I needed to park. For almost a month, I kept track of how often I got the best spaces while focusing on doing just that. I then did a month of tracking my parking without thinking about it.
I had almost identical parking experiences, with the "non secret" parking actually doing a little better.
its a nice premise, I like to stay positive, but there's no free lunch.

interesting concept, however i think they mis stated what this actually is. it is plain and simple. you make who you are. if you are a negative, annoying, whining person....that is what you surround yourself with. if you are positive, happy, and optimistic... that is what you surround yourself with. Notice I said what you surround yourself with. NOT what is attracted to you. While another negative person may choose to surround themselves with YOU, it is not so simple to say that you actually attract them with your negative thoughts.
in addition, they claim if you use positive thoughts on what you really want, those other bad things will go away and the positive things will attract to you. again, we all know if i think all day every day about a 100K+ job or winning the lottery, this isnt going to happen. however, there is one mental process that CAN actually change the outcome of your life. and its not thinking about positive things and *hoping* (because that is all you can do with this silly concept) that good things will come.
you know what that mental state it? MOTIVATION. This is really what this video is talking about as the big 'Secret'. you have to motivate yourself to become a better person, get a better job, be postive, etc. its not the thoughts about good and pretty stuff, its not trying ignore thinking about the negative....its motivation. if you are a negative person, and have little motivation to move yourself beyond that point....you never will. plain and simple if you dont *think* about what you want and set goals for yourself, you will never advance.
So those that are stuck being 'negative' or have 'bad things' happen to them, or are constantly demeaned like they say the gay guy in this movie was. they need to MOTIVATE themselves to aspire to something greater, something beyond their miserable lives and SET A GOAL.
this clip has a good concept....but for some reason when I watch it all I can think is that I'm watching an advertisement. its kinda weird. they are trying to sell this 'big secret' idea to a bunch of people that are down on their luck and will pretty much take anything to improve their lifestyle. can this help them? maybe.... if the positive thought motivate them to change their life. but thoughts alone cant do it. and certainly paying for or watching this movie wont do it either. its about ACTION. not INACTION by watching some ridiculous people tell you 'I can make your life better immediately! just watch/buy my s***...."
honestly i got angrier the more i watched this. especially with the special graphics that send out little 'mind waves' from the person, and at one point someone even rubs a Genie out of a bottle. are you serious? what a bunch of ....
im gonna stop this angry rant before i seriously offend someone. i apologize if i hit a nerve for anyone like Greenlife who was nice enough to post this for us. i am a very skeptical person...

It appears we may find out eventually that this draw to things outside of our control and in direct contradiction of natural phenomenon has a basis in human evolution, and societal or herd evolution, specifically. But again there is a failing to achieve the ultimate goal having this supposed deity or energy, above and beyond the scope of our current comprehension, love us back with an ultimate recognition of our devotion. And there are those humans here, that would exploit this quest and purport this final redemption, and exalt falsely this one great answer, and then push the limits of this available truth just beyond the limits of observation, once again veiled, obfuscating reproach. Because it is never the claimants magical sky-daddy that is at fault, nor their claims. Forever, regardless of true intent and effort, it is you who are not worthwhile in your devotion, or in your inability. Gladly they will allow you to follow, gladly they will take compensation and offerings for their wisdom and guidance above your own reason, above your own intuitions, even. It is a distraction against life's great beauty, the things that already lie in this world. Looking around literally and figuratively, I see all the greatness and wonderful things here as the truth, as the answers. Plural. There is not one greatest question as there are a fabric of inquiries, and an ever evolving available inquest. We go through this life as individuals, but leave imprints affecting the many. Our actions here matter. And that is my intent here, throughout this posting: That this diversion can and does come at a cost and to a detriment. All falsehoods, great or small (exceptions unknown notwithstanding) have a venom to them. They are the enemy of the truth, and truth maintains the residence of freedom. While everyone has a certain right and apparent ability to make claims falsely, and to put them forth in place of facts through negligence or for gain, it is the right of the affronted also to counter such, and to put forth the rebuttal or to restore the truth. My children deserve a place that they can trust. We are a long way from there. This is what the continuance of the strive for knowledge and honest equity fulfill, purposefully, I think. It's how I live right now, until I find out differently. I'll end this little rant here with this sentiment: For all the people I've known to fervently hold to a heaven and an order, for all the intensity and zeal of the most assured in faith and it's accompanying joy, I have yet to meet a happy man, and one endowed of such faith, to volunteer onward there.

I'm unaware of the level of skepticism you hold, but If you haven't read it, and I suggest everyone should, Richard Dawkins "The God Delusion" addresses these issues, and helps in the cultivation of healthy skepticism. It surely provides a better level of information than this video produced here. And for the record, I haven't always been an atheist . I have come to this conclusion after searching the validity of claims from the various incarnations around the world of this misguided mysticism. The claims brought forth by these pseudo clerics are indistinguishable in their validity from Scientology, or any other UFO religion out there. I had the pleasure of viewing this a few years ago, and made my attempts to put it into action, despite a firm understanding of the sub-atomic world and it's interactions. I am not speaking on this subject without experience, I feel I should note this fact. And I make these statements not to offend, but to respect others by maintaining my honest assessments, and communicating them with complete candor. For instance, I used to profess Rastafarian beliefs as true and had to maintain a cognitive dissonance to maintain those claims after experience with contradictions and outright conjecture in place of facts.

And there is a sequel out there somewhere as well. I have not seen it, but for those interested, they have produced further literature and at least one more vid.
