at another forum
a fellow started a thread called "does prayer work", as if it was a atm machine or something. what you do when you want something and you want to ask someone to give it to you.

i tried to explain that prayer is a connection to the devine
it needs no question or request
it only needs for you to allow yourself to "recieve"
not money or material things
but comfort, inspiration, opportunities, abilities, etc...

i find that the language that is used in communication with the spirit world is "emotion" rather than thought, or words. They come later seeping through as the "emotions" are more understood and more connections are made within my heart and mind incorporating this new insite into my being.

am i alone out there, or is there someone out there that has a similar experience?

Meditation is a vacuum, look for the non thinking, the mental emptiness.
the "letting go" brain ... respiratory work ... channeling energy Internal.
in martial arts there is the meditation ... to the EMPTY ! Changes in brain function ! Happen not to think ! Modify state of lucidity, to feel the events, stop the brain intellectualization. Specific work !
Praying to 1 God or a prayer (required by the intellect : LOGIK !)
is totally another thing ...
Meditation (or internal work) gave a great things on the body.
Many brain disorders are thought of. Greed, Rage, egocentrism, ETC !
Many thought of giving pain ... problems ... stress ... disappointments.
Channeling his mind, his thoughts, emotions help a human being !!!!!! Prayer = but it also is subjective and comes from his belief !
From his faith to God ! This are two different things ...

no you arent alone. the mind is a wonderful thing if you know how to use it. and how to make use of it... ill post something else i think is very interesting. i came across it becasue of the title, i was wondering what sort of baloney they were feeding people so i went in and had a look. but the title is misleading. it is alot in fact about prayer, music, meditation and the mind. if you try to overlook the nitpicking science stuff and look at the global view of what is being presented its very, very interesting for the more spiritual of us, and gives us insight into how to expand our spiritual realm.

anyway enough lecturing from me... here it is. (by the way the title is misleading)















i know that I for one will be using some of this ancient knowledge in my future designs... especiall those of a more spiritual nature.

Prayer is superfluous.

To have a connection to the divine is to live in prayer.

Why would you need to reach out to what's already in you?

I am glad to hear someone mention, "living in prayer". All that's needed is a word from a friend, a song, a blessing recieved, a need aknowledged, etc. and then I find myself "in prayer". And sometimes, in/out of prayer is fuzzy. Like, do I ever really leave?

I may fade in and out at times, but the devinity I connect too never wavers from my side. I sometimes am not able to "recieve" if I am swirling in chaos. But, all it takes is time for me to find my center, dig in my heels and reach for balance and DP is always there to catch me when i fall...

I agree with you that it is through the connnection that all things are possible

Whatever "Prayer" is/means for anyone is fine with me. A state of mind where we open ourselves up to "recieve" communications and blessings from our "higher power" is only going to result in an increase in love and understanding, imo.

so, it's all good. ok?

folks get caught up in names and definations and specific behaviors
the higher power is inside you
when you talk to yourself
i have no doubt that you are communicating
with your higher power

you do not need any supernatural beings to make the connection...

it does indeed feel like looking inward, as you say...
but, ive never heard of a "wrong way" to reach for a connection with one's higher power. any way one wants to strive for that "wholeness" is a wonderful thing, imo.

I guess, if you're sincere, you'll probably end up doing both at once. But, many people lead an unexamined life and pray for things like more money or a better job or whatever else they think they need.

That's what I think of when the word "prayer" hits my mind.

so many of my dreams are coming true for the first time in my life! If I hadn't dream this dream, my partners and I wouldn't be here participating in the opening of the first MM Collective of local growers in California, possibly in our country! Without the "DREAM" there would be no creation. All creation starts out as somone's "dream". I am positive that my dreams come from inspiration recieved through "PRAYER".

I also believe that when trying to define or regulate another's way of achieving connection to their higher power, is really none of my business.

that's where RELIGION goes wrong, imo. it is just too complicated and individualized and personal and the only one that can figure out the best way for themselves, are themselves...
