Ancient Biblical or religious passages that deal with Hemp

I've heard that there are many verses relating to marijuana or hemp not only in the Bible, but also in other ancient religious texts from the Shaman's and tribal medicine men?

I've got a few special ones I've found during research, but I thought first it might be best to let others share their spiritual side of the herb...is there a passage in any ancient writing that you find not only beautiful or pertinent, but that will also hold true today?

This is not a passage, but it is the ancient tradition that is still done today.
If I happen upon a puran I will post the script as it describes the sacrament of the herb.

Shiva Ratri is the night of Shiva "when He himself was created by His own Divine Grace" . Shiva Ratri literally means ' the night consecrated to Shiva. This auspicious festival falls on the fourteenth day of the waning moon in the month of Falgun, (February - March in the Gregorian calendar ).Shiva Ratri is a much anticipated festival by all Hindus. Pilgrims and yogis from all over Southeast Asia come to Kathmandu. On this day people fast through out the day. At dawn, worshippers take a bath or dip in the river and go to the temple to worship.
Shiva Ratri; on this day devotees and non-devotees alike freely indulge in smoking marijuana and, it is the only day in the annual calendar when herb is legal. They smoke in the belief that it pleases Lord Shiva for he too is said to be fond of it. Thus herb is taken as prasad, holy food blessed by the Gods.
The Puran, is one of the many holy text of the Hindus, that tells of this, and that if you worship Shiva on this day all your sins will be forgiven.

I believe I recall something about the mushrooms that Jesus was eating while he was out in the dessert for 40 days.
Or it may have been another time he was out in the dessert.

It talks about they were to pick them right before dawn.
I can not recall what the bible calls them.
When translated it means mushrooms or maybe cactus.

Sounded like peyote or mushrooms to me.

I can see them tripping now.

i cant rember the whole thing but i rember reading some where that in the old testament casiba or how ever its spelled is actualy marijuana. and evan heard there's a recipe for making tea or wine with it not sure which but sapose to be in the untranslated version

Interesting. I've heard many references to Biblical scripture, but not in that fashion.

Many moons ago as class subject I studied the Masoretic Text, the Hebrew Old Testament considered a exact duplicate of the original. The "original" documents have been copied since the time they were written, and the Masorites, a group of Jewish scribes known for perfection in the duplication were first given the task of copying the pages of scripture for preservation and study. If there was a single vowel mark out of place, the entire hand written page was destroyed in fire, and a new one was begun. So, if you search for that word, in Hebrew in a Hebrew copy of the Old Testament you just may find it.

I don't recall that word, but all you would need to do is translate marijuana (try Hemp) into Hebrew and then do a word search.
