Default quitting MMJ, and the thoughts/feelings that accompany it.

It's been a long time for me to have not posted.but pm for that explanation. I just had a thought about sobriety, depression, addiction, anxiety, and boredom, and how in some way, they're linked to one another though a substance, any substance. We smoke, sometomes cause we're bored, other times because we're having a panic, or nausea attack. For the ones who need it for a mental medical problem like ADD, depression or anxiety, a doctor will look at you like a pot addict or dope fiend when you describe quitting pot. Mental illnesses look much like addiction, because it too is a mental illness. Those around us can also make it much worse, by re-reinforcing bad or addicting thoughts and habits. addiction is a mental disease, but it's the only one you can get yelled at for having. Imagine if your parents grounded you every week for having ADD. You'd be a pretty messed up adult, the same principle can still apply.

I see those around me quit pot easilly, but for me I get racey/paranoid thoughts, a quick heartbeat, and my memory dulls even more than when I am high. so boredom overcomes, which makes these anxiety thoughts overcome the mind since there is nothing else to concentrate on and I must "reason" them away. While I am high I do not need to concentrate to let the thoughts pass without me analyzing them, without it I over-analyze every bit of info I see. Sober, speaking with me you'd think of me as a conspiracy nut, but medicated I can dismiss a worry if it is reasonably false. Now, for the part about addiction what happens when one who over analyzes thinks, "I need to smoke for________" And like I said, till I discuss it with myself in my head, and reason out confusing or philosophical things, they nag, till I sleep. there is no reasoning around or thinking out an urge or want,(think how long kids think about their christmas presents they are gonna get)it's especially hard for a habbit. I'll admit that stopping smoking also causes me to become slightly OCD for a week. but stopping any substance quickly can cause a brain imbalance, and for one who is already imbalanced it can be hard. My point for sharing this is, as a part of being a paranoid person, I began to think pot was addicting and if you think it, the mind can make you believe and feel it. It took awhile but I reasoned out with myself about the addictiveness of pot, and it Can be physiologically addicting, only with precursors like a, injury, mental illness or deficit. I know everyone has these issues to an extent when quitting pot, but for those who use it as medicine in any way, it can be down right debilitating. I realize though how society can see people in this situation as addicts because we need this intoxicating substance.hey fatman, if you can include a little of this info in the "above the ignorance" campaign, it might help raise a little awareness.

kieah, for a small group with a really rare psychosomatic disorder - think it been a special form of schizophrenia - it is possible to build an addiction to THC, but this group has in general a super high tendency to addictions.
on the other hand, if you suffer from a medical disorder you tread with THC it is no wonder that you down as soon as you don't get your medicine... get some sun light, it eases it a bit hopefully...

Kieah, I wish the best as you struggle with these issues...you are not alone...I think the introspection and careful deliberation you are showing are indicators that you will work it out in time and find out what is most helpful to you in the long run...Peace

Kieah,

You have put alot of thought into this stuff, everyone has demons they fight with on a daily basis. There are things for me that no Dr. can cure, although they try...

I truely believe that the mind is the most powerful thing in the exsistance of man, even better than putting a man on the moon... We can make $hit up out of thin air, we can hurt when there is no pain.. It's really unreal what we can do with our minds. If you think of something long enough, it becomes TRUE or real to us, reagardless of what others think.

Godspeed Bro,

Sock
