I was sent this, I guess so my frog identification skills improve. Quiz on Monday...

Freakiest and Weirdest Frogs

Crucifix Toad or Holy Cross Frog (Notaden bennettii)

The Crucifix Toad or Holy Cross Frog of Australia is probably one of the freakiest and weirdest looking
creatures on Earth. The Crucifix Toad is one of the most distinctive species of frog. It exhibits many bright
colors and a very round frog. Its nose is blunt, and legs and feet are small. As this species is fossorial, the
tympanum is hidden. Males reach a length of 6.3 cm or 2.5 in and females a length of 6.8 cm or2.7 in.
Turtle Frog (Myobatrachus gouldii)

This weird and odd-looking creature is called Turtle Frog, a species of frog found in Australia. This
incredible frog like the Crucifix Toad is a fossorial or burrowing species, and probably the most fossorial
of all Australian frogs. They even call and mate underground, where the eggs are laid in the moist sand
and develop directly into frogs.
Suriname Toad (Pipa pipa)

Because of its weird physical appearance, the Suriname Toad appears to be a dead creature. Other
common name of this species includes Aparo, Rana Comun De Celdillas, Rana Tablacha, Sapo Chinelo,
Sapo Chola, and Sapo De Celdas.

It is a species found in South America and lives in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests,
subtropical or tropical swamps, swamps, freshwater marshes, and intermittent freshwater marches.
It is also threatened by habitat loss.
Long-nosed Horned Frog (Megophrys nasuta)

This odd-looking frog is the Long-nosed Horned Frog. It is also commonly called Malayan Horned Frog,
a species of frog restricted to the rainforest areas of southern Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia to
Singapore, Sumatra and Borneo.
Cruziohyla calcarifer

This amphibian is one of the most unique frogs due to its several distinctive traits that include having
two colors in the eye, unusual but beautiful coloration and peculiar arm and leg structures. The range
of Cruziohyla calcarifer extends through Central America into northern South America.
Heterixalus alboguttatus

This frog with distinct coloration is endemic to Madagascar and scientifically named Heterixalus
alboguttatus. It is a species of frog that inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical
or tropical moist shrubland, subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, swamps,
freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, arable land, heavily degraded former forest, ponds,
irrigated land, and seasonally flooded agricultural land.
Waxy Monkey Leaf Frog (Phyllomedusa sauvagii)

This frog is unique in many ways. This brightly colored species of frog is commonly known as the
Waxy Monkey Leaf Frog, a hylid frog found in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay. It moves by walking
rather than hopping, which is the reason for the "monkey" in its name. It is a very calm, careful
creatures. It has adapted to meet the demands of life in the trees. It does not need to return to the ground
during the mating season, rather it lays its eggs down the middle of a leaf before folding the leaf, sandwiching
the eggs inside. Its nest is attached to a branch suspended over a stream so that hatching tadpoles drop
into the water

I love frogs. These are some of the prettiest I've seen. Up here in Canada I used to see lots of frogs as a little boy they were everywhere.

Its too bad now I hardly ever see any of them. We used to see a couple varieties around here. Bull frogs were very common and big monsters they were. I had a friend once brought a large Bull frog to school with a garter snake and the teacher and all the kids watched them fight. The bull frog won in the end and ate the snake. Seemed pretty weird when it happened I don't think that would ever happen again. I mean the teacher letting that happen that is.

Is it going to be an open book test Zig?
