Growers Coalition - a MJ Growers Union

Been kicking this idea around for ahwile now, and want to run it by you all here and get your thoughts.

The issues in Arcata, Ca. got me to thinking even more about it, as this is a perfect opportunity for such a group (we'll call it the "GC") to show their stuff and make a difference with the American public, as a whole.

Imagine several "representatives" of the GC at a table, one stands before the TV news media and the people of Arcata, and APOLOGIZES for the actions of the growers, as a group, in that town....

"Ladies and Gentlemen: As a chosen spokesman for the MJ growers in Arcata, and speaking for all the growers in the area, I would like to apologize to you all for the issues that have taken place recently. It is not the goal of growers to ever disrespect others property, or the community we all live and participate in. We have spoken with the local growers, and they have agreed to "clean up their act", and make things right with the good people of this town.

People of America have changed, and that small change is what has allowed us to live here, and the freedom to raise our medicinal and recreational marijuana. Damaging other peoples property and inconveniencing the general public with our actions is not, and has never been, our goal or desire. These growers would like to become responsible members of this comminuty, and we do hope you will allow us an opportunity to make the corrections necessary, and show Arcata that we are part of a respectful society. Thank you for your time."

Want the general populations respect?? It has to be earned.

it all sounds good to me but using the term recreational might draw a lil to much atention and from the wrong people namely the feds. in a perfect place it would be ok but we all know how uncle sam is he'll twist word's around and leave out parts to make him sound like he's doing the right thing evan though it ain't and could actualy hurt the movement in the long run.

also evan though this will probably seem harsh but who ever the people were if the property owners wish to press charges they should step up and take there due's cuase they chose to do it but if they don't press charges they should make it worth the people wild for doing so

Thanks for your thoughts Ice. This is not a simple issue, by any means, it is actually pretty damn complex.

I've always been a believer in the phrase: "The sale never begins until the first objection"...

Well, we have an "objection" from the people of Arcata...and we all will be judged by how the MJ community responds, both as a group, and especially those right there in Arcata.

All I am wanting to do is find a way to make the MJ community "points" with the general population...

to be honest and quit frank let the cops deal with them if there trashing peoples houses and burning them down for messing with something they quit clearly have no clue what there messing with i know here in my state the only person other then a licensed contractor that can rewire a house is the home owner not renters so any changes they made with-out haveing one of those 2 people do it were illeagel and i'm sure the fire marshal when he checked it out noted it in his report i say people should only do what they are willing to take credit for so they should be adults and step up and pay for damages they cost the property owners and possably have there cards revoked for acting so stupid and be banned for getting it renewed for a set period of time for the rest of there lives would be fine by me as it would show that yes you can grow but don't go burn someone esles property down just so you can make a few bucks which they more then likely never sent as much as a dime to norml or any other leagalisation movements they are just mainly doing it to make some fast cash which don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with that but lets say 10 of the growers from there are makeing a million a year and dont pay taxes or spend anything to help the movement i say they should pay taxes on it evan if they get taxed 1/3 they still took home 666666.67 a year

^^ right on ice, i'm been a bit weary of the taxation part but they engage this as business it would be legal to tax them as any other business venture. as long as it is not tax on direct personal labor it is fine with the constitution.

if it is legal to grow they could go for licensed craftsman to get electrical wiring done or other stuff they have no clue from. greed is a general problem in our society, and steeling power to maximize profits is just a version of greed as it is greed if a corporation that does well cuts another 50000 jobs to push it share value. as long as we don't learn to play fair this won't stop in any shape or form.
