Just a stupid little question but something that I think about often. I get so into my plants and gardening in general that sometimes I forget that it is illegal to do what I am doing. How many of you feel like you are doing nothing wrong? How many of you forget how illegal this is? And lastly how many of you feel that gardening of any sort is the ultiamte therapy and escape?

There is nothing like a garden IMO to escape from everyday stresses.

Oh I agree with you Bloodshot, it makes me angry that we are treated like criminals.....I'm not hurting anyone, and I'm not out on the corner pushing my wares.

I tend to really get into things I enjoy...and as I age (not to damn gracefully, I might add) I'm finding more interests that are not quite as physically taxing in nature.

After being provided the requistite ppwk from the doctor (making me legal in my state), I made the first BIG mistake of going to a local hydro shop and used the words "Medical Marijuana" and "Grow" in the same sentence. Got promtly tossed from the store for saying them. Fellow was nice, but it made me feel like a POS criminal that needed to hide behind secrecy to even ask about learning how to grow the medicine that the State said I could have. No other way to get it legally here but to grow your own.

I told him there were 2 virtues that I place great importance on in life...honesty and integrity. Neither of which will amount to shit if I go around lying to folks...so, I didn't tell the next shop what I was planning to grow, just that I needed some "stuff". He never asked, I never had to lie. Yeah, it's a personal thing with me but it don't seem right an honest man has to toss his honesty out the window and take chances on getting arrested just to stay healthy and continue as a taxpayer and employer.

Till the first grow produces some smokable herb I'm still buying off the street, which IS illegal.

That is the stupidity of MM laws in most states. Although the state allows legal use with doctors orders, and even if you are well within the parameters of the regulations governing how much you can have in possession or in cultivation, they (State) will NOT back you up if the Fed's bust you. Seems to em, if "they" are sying you are legal, then "they" should stand with you in court and back up your RIGHT to use herbal medicines for your health.

After spending 2 years sicker than hell, and then finding the medicine that actually does work...and that I can GROW it myself. That did it...and now the wife is jazzed cause I finally give a crap about gardening..anything, but especially my own medicine.

Honestly though, growing weed has got to be near the top of the "as much fun as you can have with your pants on" list

I understand both sides of the coin, Menerian. I had a hydro shop and was a patient..but I couldn't advertise it...and I also had to ask 2 different folks to leave my store for the same infraction...and worse. One guy actually brought a plant into my store for me to look at because he had Black spot/rust on the leaves and wanted me to confirm the diagnosis...

I about shit my pants...

the other guy pulled out a square tin about 5" x 5" that had 4-5 nice buds in it and laid it on the counter and said "THIS is what it's all about, dooooooooooooooood"

He had $800 worth of stuff sitting on the counter and I STILL told him to GTFO....

If folks don't know it....telling a hydro guy yer gonna grow pot makes him an accessory to the crime...guilty of CONSPIRACY TO MANUFACTURE....and he can lose everything he's put into his business (takes 50 to 100K to get going)

No sale was ever worth it to me to cross the line. I IGNORED a lot of idiots and their "tomato" comments and "winks" that followed...but more often than not it seemd that people had to HINT what they had going on...as if they were trying to IMPRESS....

Go in....KNOW WHAT YOU NEED AND BUY IT WITH CASH. Then LEAVE.

The guy isn't there to teach you how to grow pot.

If any of you are eligible for a medical card/license in your state I would urge you to proceed and do what is needed to become legal in your state.

I grew for years without status. Because it WAS illegal, I always had *that* cloud of fear hanging over my head and NEVER forgot it was illegal. I was extremely cautious...even nioded at times....especailly at night. The DREAMS got very intense...I could block the possibilities of a bust from my mind during my waking hours...but at night...woah... I had MANY of those *wake-from-yer-sleep-in-a-panic* moments...always the SAME dream..always the SAME outcome...

With the license it's a different game. It took me awhile to be comfortable carrying plants out to the deck...or watering 'em...but now I don't give the LAW much thought and worry more about RIPPERS THAN COPS....

it's always somethin'...
