Cannabis Cup Entry, anyone?

Yo,

Thought I'd start up a thread on entering my personal strain into the Cannabis Cup... Whoever wants to help, I'm sure we could all enter as a group... and possibly all go as a result (and maybe even win).. Or, I'm sure we could just all go collectively as greenpassion.org or something... As soon as there are enough peeps down to do it, I'll tell ya's my idea and we can get started.

Why would anyone accept the "rules" of that contest, or go to the incredible expense to have your strain judged...by...who?

Ever bred a totally new strain? Takes a long time to get it structured the way you want, and then the back-crosses to stabilize it.

Nice goal, but I'll pass.

I have a little over a year to do this, but I was just wondering (since this seemed like a respectable site) who would like to have a little fun.. I already own growing seed company (Spirit Seeds) with a couple of contacts of mine, and we've developed our own strain prototype that everyone thinks should enter the cup.. I thought since I'm using greenpassion's site to help grow my company (where all participants have equal share of the company) and perfect the prototype , it would only be fair to bring the site's name to the cup so you all at the forum can have free advertisement. I just didn't phrase it this way because I wasn't sure how to go about doing so without it sounding like b.s., so I guess now I have to tell yas for anyone to have fun.

I guess anyone interested can personal message me? Or maybe we can keep this thread alive and start working on stuff?

And, ISO, it's not about the "rules," and not really even about who wins (although it's a nice incentive for good bud) so much as it is about having fun and being with people who feel the same way about ganja, bro.

Good for you hon, and of course we are interested. Let us know the details and also about your company. We always encourage our members in any endeavor they have. I think maybe you should talk to Ileso. He is knowledgeable in this area. I know a lot of us are interested in what goes into making a new variety. Looking foreward to more info on your efforts.

Sweet, thanks. :D How can I talk to lleso? Also, the strain name is called "Arctic Wind." And to be honest (to reveal more information), as I was browsing the MM pages, I've found more respect for the site, seeing as how I personally use sativas to curb some of my mental anguishes (and how it helped my family members). It was from that, actually, that I decided to start the company.. It's basically a distributer for medical patients**.. Instead of categorizing the seeds based on a list of sativa/indica;outdoor/indoor;medical, it's categorized by how it "moves your spirit" (Native american hertiage, so I thought it'd be a fun slogan, hence Spirit Seeds)... this means that the seeds pre-devided by the symptoms they are reported to cure/help, and (I will have to look into this more at a later date) i'm trying to register it as a non-profit company for a .org extension if possible.

sounds very interesting. i love me some sativa to help with anxiety and depression. i would like to join in the aid. i think in the strain you defiantly should add in a little strawberry cough and may be some jack herer. it would be nice to see that.

Ooh, that sounds nice to me.. But why limit ourselves to just one strain? The Arctic Wind phenotypes are pretty much set in stone, and is actually crossed with a "secret" plant but we could definately start developing a new strain.. Strawberry CoughxJack Herer.. what would you like to name it?

And I will keep tabs of everyone who wants to join in right here in this thread, if that's ok.. If anyone wants to add themselves, copy and paste the updated list that includes your name and what you want to do/contribute... then we can periodically discuss and come to agreements as the list grows, subsequently modifying the list.

Current List:

Also, I extended a collaboration with ileso if he wants to input his personal GP strain.
