| American Marijuana Crop in Crisis American Marijuana Crop in Crisis Recent climatic conditions in the US state of Kentucky have reportedly affected not only corn and soybean crops but also scorched illegal marijuana crops raising speculation that this year may see a sharp rise in street prices for the drug. The US Drug Enforcement Administration claims Kentucky is one of the major cultivation areas for marijuana in the US. State police Lt. Ed Shemelya told reporters, "I've walked into quite a few plots where the plants are just shriveled up and dead." The dry weather has caused many marijuana growers to artificially water their crops and lead to higher arrest rates with over 100 growers arrested thus far.
