HIP HOP: Brother Ali Is Bringing Hip Hop Back!

Ok, first and foremost, I have to give credit where credit is due. That goes to willtrib. Willtrib, thanks man, for turning me on to this mc!

It has been a long time since I heard anything that turned my ear back to HIP HOP. I used to live and breathe HIP HOP back in the day, like you wouldn't believe. Then it just got boring. Everybody sounded like everybody else. I mean there was always a few artists that made you nod your head, but not anything that really grabbed your soul with the beat & the lyrical content.

But I have to say, this artist, Brother Ali, has renewed my faith in HIP HOP. I will be buying his CD tommorrow. I sat here, smoking bowl after bowl of the good herb, watching every video that has been put on youtube. He is nice with the lyrics.

I have different freestyle mix-tapes, DVD's, and let me tell you, true HIP HOP comes from the heart, not the wallet.

Today's artists have been blinded by greed. It's ridiculous the money that is made, but so few actually give back to the community on a real level. A real level.

So, without going all out and giving a dessertation on why I love HIP HOP, here is a sample of the artist, Brother Ali.

Hey fatman,

It is somewhat embarrassing to admit it, but I actually listened to these. "Take Me Home", is quite good for its genre. Now, it must be stated that I am no fan of hip-hop, and I am not likely to become a huge fan. But, I have a vision that this genre could very well be fused with other forms, to make it more palatable to the masses.
Spirituals and "call/responce" forming blues, blues/progressive jazz evolving into rock and roll, with the help of early country/western,(as it used to be called).

I can hear myself adding a few licks to some of BA's recordings.

You know, I figured out why I like this dude's music and swagger.
He puts me in the mind of Biggie, just a little thinner.....and whiter, lol.
But, he has a similar swagger, mentality, and....even the lazy eye, the right eye, just like Notorious.

He's real chill. All his stuff is bangin. I picked up his 'Champion" CD, and it is NICE. I'm gonna try and find the other CD's at amazon.
