Rep Power: 21 | | My letter to our Pres. Let's see yours
I have to say i am very unhappy with my commander and chief. I was very put off by his snickering to the marijuana reform laws. As a soldier that fights for freedom, i feel that we are not free. Other countries have a freedom we do not. How can you so blatantly roll such an issue off. Millions of people have been arrested for non violent crimes. At the same time, wife beaters, rapists, murderers, tax dodgers, and a multitude of criminals are given lesser sentences. These are people we fear. Who should fear a marijuana smoker. Marijuana offenders crowd our prisons, making it harder to put away real criminals. If this government was not to enslave marijuana offenders, we would save billions in revenue. They pay taxes, they do work, and they contribute to society. Stereotypes hurt us all. Why stereotype a good group of people as evil. Im just upset sir. I am not a smoker. I have a Secret clearance, and have no desire to loss it. I just feel you are not taking these people serious. They are good people, with great hearts. I do believe though, that if you drive under the influence of any drug, you should be held liable. If you a detriment to society, you should be held liable, but if you sit in your living room, smoke a bowl, go to bed, and wake up to go to work, and contribute to our great country, you are not an evil person. I feel you are just an American. Give adults the freedom to make a choice. America was founded on these ideals. Flat line is, marijuana is not nearly as bad as caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and a multitude of over the counter drugs. If you allow prohibition of one, well do away with all the rest. We both know that will never happen, so do the fair, the right thing, and really think about it. I know you say it is not the answer to a failing economy, but it cant hurt it either. It would help. Take the time and just think about it for me, an American, and an American who has been to war.
Post your letters to our commander and chief. Id love to see what you all have to say. We can only change our government by proactive means. Got to whitehouse.gov and click on the contact us in the upper right hand side.
Peace Bamberger

Whats up Bam. Thanks for your service to our country. I have not written the Pres yet but I E-Mail and call my Reps all the time. Im not happy about the raids on dispesarys, non violent offenders being locked up with the real criminals, Healtcare reform and out of control spendind by the new administration. I too believe you have to be proactive to get anything done. I will write the President but I cant help but believe it will fall on deft ears. He does not appear to care what the majority wants. Just what hard liberals want. I will still write the letter Bam. Take care and best of luck to you! Thanks again for your service. It takes a special person to do what you do!

I understand where you are coming from. It is a shame our government does not listen to the people, since it is the people that inact them to speak on our behalf. The only way to change this is threw one, following our duty as Americans given to us in the preamble of the constitution of these united states, or to make the people in charge listen to our plea. I side with number two. I will say this though, we as Americans have the right to change our government. We have been given this right by the same constitution in witch governs us. Thanks for listening to my rant. All i have to say is, you all are fighting the fight. Be active though. Nothing changes threw passive behavior.

Thanks! I appreciate what you are saying. I thank you and all other servicemen because you are the ones who keep democarcy alive by keeping our country safe and secure. Too many people take it for granted. I am over 50 and when I was old enough to serve I took a pass. Nam was almost over and I did not feel the service could do much for me. I regret it now because I am older and understand more of what the service does for our country and our youth. I will stay on top of the congress and keep my friends on top of them too. Its the only way you can get things done on Capitol Hill. Party On!

I understand your view. I feel the same. I know it will never be read, but if i don't send it, there is never a chance it will either. I just wanted to address a topic that is dear to us all. If not your pres, then at least your locally elected federal officials (senators and congressmen). I plan on sending a letter to each one of mine in a rotating fashion. Every few days, that guy will get another letter. Then another. Then another. Have two, three, four, so on write and he will have to address it. if it upsets him, the better. Keep sending. The voice of the masses is the only thing that will change this. That and massive amounts of civil disobedients. Also, join norml, and if you cant, at least drop them a dollar or two. They are the ones fighting at the political front day in and out. MPP and ASA (americans for safe accses) could use your donation to. But if you can't do that, and you don't right, well, you can't complain either. Not addressing any one in particular here. I just want you all to at least write one letter, send it out. Ever hear of the boy who did one nice thing, then it caught on like wild fire. Well, good night America, good morning Germany.

Mr President,**** you and your crew.Hows about lets do some good for planet earth and stop padding you and your evil friends pockets. When I was little I heard the term"plastic people".I assumed it meant phoney people ,putting up a front.Plastic people are the enemy of our planet and you goons, for the last 80 years plus are messing it all up for finacial gain.Thats right, you know whats up here. When you let Du Pont consume a fine ,renewable resource so you can smog up the planet in the name of prosperity.I know you wern't born yet Prez but why must this maddness continue?Oil is killing us,your medicine is killing us and your corperations are dying.Ya, I'm ready for change.
You have the power to do great things.Lets work on getting our property back and raise the next generation.Nobody I know really think kids are a good idea right now.Hmmm.
The world economy has shifted, our country has big problems. So your best Idea is to give cash dollars to the bussinessmen that greedily created our problems? You screwed up bad.Why dont we work on supporting ourselves on our soil and let others do the same...Eh?You should have done whats right and given the T.A.R.P. funds back where they came from and let us spent our money, that we worked so hard for,in America.Clocks ticking
Sincerly,**** YOU
