ever heard that expression before?
well yeh, make the last one count. but that gets you thinking, how do i know which one is the last one? it makes sense to make the last one count, it can also be applied to a whole range of situations.
thats the thing about sayings. they are vague and far reaching.
what if we dont recognise the last one for what it is? shouldnt we then make each one count like it was the last? and how about the first one? it could very well be first and last too!
so we should make everyone count like it was the last. right?
now, what does all this mean? are they the ramblings of a lunatic? or a pot head with nothing else to occupy himself than senseless riddles? i actually love that description... pot head..
what i'm getting at is that we usually dont make everymoment count like it was the last. lots of people shy away from that edge. prefering to waddle in the mediocrity of convincing themselves they have time and somehow they wont die and that tomorrow will happen better than today did.
but in a real sense what do they loose?
alot.
they loose all the moments in between the beginings and ends of things. including our lives. we loose being us, we loose our wildest dreams.
for a breed of sentient beings whose civilisation stands on the backs of those brave enough to step into the darkness of no tomorrow, as a whole we are certainly lacking a certain stimulus.
i sometimes wonder why...
i mean its like sex.. everyone i know will agree sex is great. regardless of culture, sex or race.
so how come the sex in between the first one and the last one are sometimes boring? why dont we make the effort so something so bloody sensational?
anyway thats the enigma i'm puzzling over in todays daze...
peace..
hehehhee

tis funny how you guys trouble over stuff, smokers delight! I m loving this.
like yesterdays post by medicinecloset( Who Am I??????) or this one! yeah.anyways
some sayings are 100% accurate, like a joint(or more) a day keeps freaking docs away(they should teach that @ school). another saying goes like greeks build homes like they gonna live forevah and eat like its their last meal thats true if you only knew whats greeks. btw greeks dont. a wise man from scotland used to say that a nation s a society with common delusions about their ancestry and hatred for their neighbors(this one kicks ass). personally, I think life s some ****ing puzzle you have to solve but you get off with all the wrong pieces, meANing you also have to find the right pieces, but thats how we artists are keep it coming guys,
another wise man (greek btw ) said that in order to make life better either the rulers should start to philosophize or philosophers to rule
peace (I wish)
ps: selective reading helps a lot, I only wonder how some books are still availlable but I guess thats because people cant read really

From what I know...the past is done and nothing can be gained by worry over it,
The future is not born yet, but built towards...
Today is a gift and is all we get, that is why it is called the Present.
So this is why we all work sooo hard to make an impact on things that matter, every day.
You never know what impact you could have TODAY on someone's life....and that is a gift you can never take back, costs nothing, and can give without limit. Many people can be affected by simply being kind...I have seen it. It is the helpful hand reaching out that adds value without limit to lives without number...and it is very simple to do.
Peace

a chinese proverb goes like (read it in google the other day):
deep doubts, deep wisdom, no doubts no wisdom

no worries mate
thats why i put stuff i sometime think of up here. to see what other people think as well..
and no the past cant be undone, thats a fact. but a wise woman once said that if your doing something you will one day regret, then you shouldnt be doing it. that means today.
which brings me to another thing. time. we have this idea, that time begins and ends. that each day somehow time magically ends and begins again. it doesnt. there is no time. time is like a never ending ripple that never stops. so today is every moment of your existence, even when you sleep. it is right now while you are reading this. it IS your existence.
so when you hear something like 'sieze the day', 'make every day count'. it all means make your existence worth while. its not anarchy, its life.

well buddy, plz allow me to deduce from what we agree on that since the past cannot be undone and there is no time then the future is liable to no change. what d'you think ? (well I already knew that cos I know a bit of history but naturally not the public available version, I said one time and still maintain that history s written by the winners and the good guys only win on TV nothing new really but I had to point my finger on someone)
I hope Im not irritating anyone ...at all.
peace

The optimist thinks this is the best of all possible worlds. The pessimist fears it is true. J. Robert Oppenheimer | I beleive the universe throws you opportunities. The optimist says "Sure, I will try that as the universe is leading me to this path" and does and succeeds. In things their imagination could never concieve of doing....but they take the chance.
The pessimist says "If I do that, then I know it will only fail and such a good thing could never work for me. Who do I think I am to be so convinced of my own right to success?" and thus leaves their dreams behind.
One quote I read stated "the difference from living your dreams and having dreams you never tried is daring to do it....without, you will be bitter and always feel short changed in life."
A good life is going out with a roar, not a whimper, knowing you tried your best and dared to live your dreams.
And hopefully made the world a better place in your efforts.
...but that is my own blue fuzzy bunny philosphy.
Peace

you obviously refer to what Oppenheimer once said and give the forum your own blue fuzzy bunny philosphy, and thats really cute, kittie but as a point of view I think it lacks magnitude, its actually so static it feels like a tv episode where the good cop is busting the big boss who brought the filthy drugs in his redneck town, or the good doc who cured the poor chap without charging or even the good lawyer who helped out some kid acussed of possession of 3.2 gs of primo quality marijuana(that with the laweyr you wont even see on tv), I mean has any of that got to do anything with reality? its cute though, no hard feelings, I hope for expressing my impression of it

peace | LOL! You obviously ARE very new here and do not know me....I am not a gentle little young girl. I am a 54 yr old woman that has started to live her dreams by daring to have them. Without those CUTE dreams, this site would not be here. Myself and my partners dared to have a dream. We dared to buy this site and pull it out of the downward spiral it was in. We did it because we SAW the possibility to launch a new dream and a new way of looking at changing the law. We dared to go to other sites that had in the past tried to trash GP and got them on board with our dream. We dared to say that it didn't have to be about sites waring with each other in a competative way, but should be about working with ALL SITES to join together and share knowledge and information freely and to welcome all members of all sites, admins, mods, members and owners, under our E-roof to work WITH us to legalize and support any and all peaceful efforts together. We dared to propose this to the news media and everyone that came here. And it is working.... Yes, maybe they started as blue fuzzy bunny dreams, but they are truely coming to pass. We work co-operatively with so many people and sites, to help make sick people well, on a daily basis. Yes, it is IDEALISTIC to the max. But look on our home page and see what other sites also have this "blue fuzzy bunny" way of thinking, before you call me a "Kitty".
But we have dared to dream and the dreams are indeed coming true....as we speak. So tell me that again???? | | The Following 4 Users Say Thank You to jangel For This Useful Post: | |

Ever heard,(never let the sun go down on an argument?)I try,TRY,to make amends with anyone I'm in conflict with before I close my eyes at night. There is no promise of another day,if I should pass in my sleep,I would surely want to come back and tell that person that I love them and its OK we ll get through this.To ME.Make the last one count means this, make a honest attempt to repair, reinforce,or clear the air so to speak, in my relationships with others in my life.In the blink of an eye my world as I know it, could come to an abrupt end.I wish people to remember me with love in there hearts, not anger or unresolved issues. With that I add, I love you all.PEACE N LOVE.

this thread isnt even about the past, nor about history. nor about the future.
its about the moment inbetween that is so small it defies measurement.
its more about making the most of it all. its about stopping to smell the roses. do you smell the roses before you jump head first into things?
heheheh
