Rep Power: 134 | | Would you grow test strains from a Breeder ?
I'm curious if you would either purchase or except a gift of Test seeds from Breeders?
Would you prefer buying ($$$+) known proven strains rather than taking a chance of getting a new strain from a Breeders stock they might be working on? IC Strain Guide - Cannabis Breeders - International Cannagraphic Magazine
Personally, I'm intrigued by obtaining a seed for as little money as possible that might have the growth/quality I'm looking for. How about you ?

| theres always the 'might have' factor involved. but it is exciting none the less.
i try to 'test' and get feed back from growers by frequently gifting them with 'test' strains or genetics. its also my way of propagation of new genetics into the what I consider limited gene pool...
but to answer the initial question, yes i would.

You bet I would.
Helping to test a strain, to grow and/or smoke something new, could not possibly (well, yes, possibly, but pshh...) be a bad thing!

I would love to grow some test strains! Unless you have allready grown or know someone that has grown a certain strain its going to be a surprise what you get even if it is a known strain. Just because the discription says one thing does not mean it will affect you the same way it says. You have to grow it and smoke it yourself to really know.

I was fortunate enough to be a tester on a line of fem seeds on '05.
unfortunately, almost all of these seeds were sent to Heaven's Stairway a few weeks before they were busted and they never hit the market.
However, I still have some in the Magic Seed bucket...so all hope is not lost!

I have in the past tested a strain and kept records on it also. I would be open to that again. I live in a state where I am legal also.

Did you grow it more than once ?
Did you happen to breed the plants to see if they were stable beyond the initial grow?

Sharing a line of genetics which hasn't achieved a brand-name status.
On that note, since you have bred. Do you give your strains a moniker?
I've often wondered how somebody comes up with these names ;>}

Everybody wants free seeds. I'd surely test out a strain, not so much from a friend but if I had a chance from a real breeder then hell yes |

this is actually good feedback to the question, i rely alot on other people growing out my strains in small experiments to see hw they grow with different people...
but i would also grow out test strains for others for the same reason.. its a good way of 'expanding' your test grow area and growing more plants...
peace
