Vid may have other reasons why mazar is his favorite but here are mine
Great Potency with a balanced high
Short Healthy easy growth
Great growth pattern short wide Xmas trees that hold the buds up
Great Smell not skunky but more pine sandlewood

it's just a great all around winner, but I think the main reason it's my favorite is because I associate it with my best small grow ever...which is more about my psychology then the Mazar...but with so many incredible strains, I suspect that is often true for people...they connect the strain to feelings of pride, success, goodtimes ect... and so get kinda hooked to a certain strain...also Mazar is not a common, so I feel like I am in on a kind of secret...you know...every one lauds White Widow and others of that ilk...I suppose all these under the surface subtle reasons for strain preference can be pretty influential and most of the time I'm hardly aware. of them..makes me wonder about other preferences I have for people, places, and things...why do we like what we like? opps ramble alert!

I havent read this thread in a while, I suppose that obvious though.
Scott raises some excellent points on mazar.

Pride comes into play for sure, it was one of my mazar grows that cannabis culture magazine published for me.

Unlike some other strains I've grown, mazar is a strain that you can depend on, in many ways. It always grows short, like a xmas tree, it always has a higher ratio of females than other strains. Most strains have a 50-50 ratio of females, mazar has like a 70-30 ratio of females, which is pretty damn good in my book.

You can always depend on mazar to become some top notch weed, it can never be called run of the mill stuff. I've had some pretty nice offers from friends asking to buy some, as much as 500.00 an oz. I dont sell it. I did give some away though.

One trait I really like is how the entire plant just about gets covered in trichs, or crystals, so much that you can see it with the naked eye.

Growing mazar, you get what you pay, and it is pricey, but you get a grow that has minimal if any problems and produces some great smoke.

When I dont have mazar, my close friends who know I grow, will ask me, when are you gonna grow that mazar again? It is special, simple as that.

Here is a picture of a grow gone by, of mazar, notice how the plant is covered.

just finished growing Mazar, lovely plant and surely one of my favourites.tried it 4 times as I got a bit of free fem seeds and it went for me nicely in SCRoG. the only disadvantage I could name was lack of pheno consistency with seeds from DP. some of them were very much indica like, short and dense and some got tall covering a lot of space what made the grow a bit inconvenient in terms of light penetration.but the high is sweet, calming and relaxing without overwhelming.

Raf, I never experienced a lack of pheno consistency, in fact, quite the oppisite I felt. Maybe one out of ten would be different, it happens.
Peace
