Ileso,

First off...welcome to GreenPassion! Glad to have you join us here

Thanks for that awesome background on the Santa Marta Gold. I don't know how old these seeds are, so am considering starting them soon. If I get lucky enough to get 3 females and 1 male I plan to breed the male to one of the females so I can have some future generations of this to work with. Also might take some of that pollen and polinate a few buds here and there on some indica strains.

Gonna be fun any way it works out!

i hope your lucky then,

hehehe

breeding and experimenting wth new (old) strains is a passion for me, ive been doing it sinse 1993 when i got my first seeds from a bag of vietnamese weed way back in Aus.

i love it, i experiment, i cross, i try things out. and basically i stear away from comercial weed. i always try to get my hands on local weed when i travel cause usually its full of seed. which is good cause for me if its full of seed, sticks and leaves and still whacks you off your nut then basically i consider that weed to be absolutely no 1 gear. thats how i rate my seed stock. ive been wasted from stuff most beople would look at and turn away, mostly in unaccessible and faraway places.

ive always worked outdoor never comecially (much) but on a personal scale.. its my hobby ... some people collect stamps...

thats why i enjoyed seeing your interest...
especially with a strain im actually waiting for as well. i doubt ill get many more than you, and i find it usually very dificult to germ sativas for some reason, i hope your lucky.

best ofluck

It's been sooo damn hot and humid here that I decided to hold the grow off till Sept, and then I don't think I'll start the SMG right off, but wait till I can get a crop of medicine going (to make sure I don't run out) and then I can work on new strains.

Right now I battle humidity all day long, even with a dehumidifier running 24/7. Not much else I can do now but add an air conditioner.

I can't find much of anything on it (on the web)...anyone of you "old farts" heard of this, and know anything about how it grows? I need to grow it indoors, and keep it under 36" total height...(I was told it can do 15 FEET in height outdoors!)

Any info you can share would be appreciated.

BTW, also have about 10 seeds for something called Cherry Malawi and 10 more of a cross of Blue Mountain Jamacian X C-99 X Chololate Thai.

Any help or growing suggestions that anyone can offer will be met with a THANKS and some positive Rep!

ISO
If it is truely the Colombian strain the plants can indeed reach a tremendous height and outdoors they will produce colas the size of baseball bats. Maybe you can go to the High Times sight and find a pic in their archives.

Ileso,

Thanks for the great pic! Damn...you musta done some diggin to find that one...thought I had looked everywhere..

Very Christmas tree in appearence...nice buds but doesn't look like it's a real cola builder from the pic. It could also still be early in flower and just starting to fill in.

I can't start anything till Sept. and will most likely start off with a SOG to replenish my med supply (which will take 20 days on the veg table and then off to flower), and then get some seeds going as I've got a number of new strains seeds that I just can't want to turn into plants!
