" Depending on the strain and the growing environment, the 'topped' plant may produce two small top colas instead of two big ones. Also, each strain has a threshold for bud production that cannot be improved upon because it is a genetically predetermined factor. On the other hand, some plants when fully grown without topping do not reach their threshold. The strain Blueberry is a good example of this. If you grow Blueberry without topping you won't achieve maximum bud production from that plant, but if you top the Blueberry, you will. Other strains aren't so flexible and the two top colas will simply share the same volume of bud that a single cola would have produced on the same strain.

It's advised that you keep in mind that pruning for yield using the topping method is strain-dependent and experiment carefully with this pruning method. Do this with 2 out of 10 plants in every grow. You'll find in time that during this vegetative prune you will be able to shape your plant. Plants are generally pruned three to four weeks into their vegetative cycle, but can be pruned sooner or later or more than once."

Then it sounds like Blueberry will be my topped strain...The NL's I'll let do their thing naturally....Maybe I'll practice my LST on the WW clones Im taking tomorrow...once I get em rooted/growing of course.

WW Mom is kicking out some serious shoots I can cut. Didnt take her long to go back to into veg after I sexed her.

If you get 2 ladies and one male, I'd still go for the supercrop.

Although I do believe kP's right on this subject... "The Hog" also has one SuperCola that also should never be topped... there's many strains that need to be researched b4 topping/FIMing, etc... But yeah, see how you like the effect by just training one of 'em.

Man I hope so, Gecko....Im trying to get this setup to work efficiently. And I want variety. With the help and encouragement from others like yourself/KP....I should do fine. I'll try to hold up on the pics for a couple weeks...But you'll see them as soon as I take some.

But here I am as of now...Mom WW/2 NL's just dropped on veg side....5 WW's in 2 weeks of 12/12 on flower side...and shot of closet.

Tomorrow my new mh/hps 400w is in...that goes on the veg side. I should be set. Just 4-23w cfls over there now.

The overall goal of pruning indoor plants is to increase the number of bud sites, also known as growing tips. The greatest potency of the plant is found in the growing tips. When the plant flowers, these grow tips will produce the dense, potent buds they you've been seeking. The most effective method o increasing the number of bud sites in a modes-sized indoor grow is by "topping" your plants one or more times.
Essentially, topping gives you more bud sites near the top of your plant. All of these bud sites willhae asccess to direct light and therfore produce superior budding than shaded, lower level bud sites, Instead of one large bud a the top, your get multiple dense buds and ultimately a bigger and more potent yield!!! So pretty much when you top depending how long you veg. them you deffinetly get more buds sites, but not only that there is direct light on all your buds making the buds bigger and more resinus so in theory yes topping will give you a bigger yeild and better buds.... but remember topping your plants also stunds the plants growth a little because its got to make up for the loss....so a topped plant will yeild more than a non-topped plant but the non-topped plant will grow faster!! hope this helps your wounderings!!!?

I have been sampeling the plants that I am about to harvest.

They are very nice for bag seed.
Most people would think I was lying if I told them this bud came from seeds I found in a bag
