Back Breading??

i have on the way some acapulco gold, panama red and some columbian gold seeds that are mixed with WW, i was courious as to how i would go about breeding the WW out so that im left with the closest possible AG, PR, and CG to the original as i can.

will i be able to do this from about 20 seeds? about 5-7 each strain?

well, to grow the WW out would take years i would say, what you can do on the quick is to cross in a more favorable strain several times and force the mix in your direction.

and to grow em clean with just 20 seeds is the next problem as that means a very limited pool to work with and the danger of mixing even more genetics together in the end.

would it even be worth it to try and breed the WW out?? i dont think ive ever had any of the golds or red, perhaps i should just grow these guys and try to find some pure seeds.

it could be easier to find pure genetics for sure, breeding them back is more then painful, lots of T&R and you never know when you truly reached the point...

so if you need pure genetics to start from scratch i would try to get them from a breeder that cleaned a strain.

if you just try to get your own strain and you basilly like CG, CR and WW, why don't you breed a stain from those that is customiced to your taste?

I would like to be in on this conversation - but need some clarification

are you seeds mixed up (unlabled) but genetically pure AG PR CG and WW?
or are all the seeds mixed in that they are a genetic mixture of the four strains?

recreating an original strain is just about impossible though it can be approximated

AG PR CG are all excellent "land races" that will only grow those famouse tastes and colors if grown in an environment closely approximating the environment they originated in.

WW was bread to do its thing indoors in generic circumstances.

If I understand your origninal info I agree with the comments that your task is just about impossible but you may come up with some great stuff through your experimentation.

The back cross you mentioned is a technicque of breeding a new strain back to one of its parent generations in order to reinforce or stabalize certain traits.

Please clarify what you are gettnig and what your goal is

the seeds are the original strains crossed with WW apparently for stabalisation.
seeing as i couldnt find the originals anywere i was going to try and back breed the WW out but i think ill just have fun with these and try to find some clean seeds.
