Rep Power: 171 | | traceydm's 3rd grow for healing hemp oil
ok folks,
after a huge amount of lurking and pretty much meaningless posting i have finally plucked up the courage to create my own grow thread.
no tee heeing allowed as i am relatively "green" at this!!
as a quick lowdown i am growing primarily to make oil for my dad and my friend.dad has bowel cancer friend has brain tumour.
i've done 2 grows already with seeds provided by my oil supplier.back then i was super "green" so i don't know what the heck i grew just that they would be easy to grow and indica.well they were sooo right!! i basically germed them ,threw them in a pot stuck a 600w hps above them and hoped for the best!! i didn't even feed the poor souls and in spite of me they still grew? who knew!!the first lot was full of seeds cos i didn't see the males early enough and second lot,out of ten seeds ,ended up with 2 ladies who produced an ok amount considering the abuse they suffered at my hands!!
anyways this time i'm trying my best to care a bit more and as of now have 6 white widow seedlings cooking under my hps.planning to add a 400w mh as soon as poss and looking into nutes available locally at the moment.
here are some pics of room, seedlings etc.
please feel free to comment but no laughing please,i couldn't cope!!!
the babies are at week 2 of being under the light and they are feminized from attitude.
NUTS!! i can't get the pics to post!! i'll be back to sort that!

Looks like they will come along hon, but why do you have them so far from the light? That looks like at least 5 feet. Keep them some distance, but I think you will be safe if they are maybe a couple feet closer. They look old enough to move them a foot closer per day, over a few days, until they are just where your hand feels the warmth, but it is not burning. Then they will take off!
Also, what is the ph of your water? Looks like they might be having a bit of a hard time with that. I will check back.
Peace

Peace | i moved the light up cos one looked like it was shriveling up at the ends?um,i don't know the ph we are giving them distilled water and the strips are aon my shopping list? maybe the shriveling is to do with the water then? i need to get on to that don't i!!

thankyou jangel, debs and hatch!!my situation is not ideal as my grow room is in friends basement(the one with brain tumour) so it's not always easy to get down there.she's a bigger menace than me when it comes to plants so it can get tricky sometimes?
BUT!! gonna do the best i can this time and hope i produce some good oil after all thats what this venture is all about!!
tho i might nick some for recreational purposes too!

while i wait for the opportunity to get back down to the grow,i thought i'd post pics of what came out of the last one!
we only had 2 ladies out of 10 seeds which i'm sure now with hindsight had to do with stress caused by yours truly!
i literally germed them in peat pots ,stuck them in 5 ltr pots, chucked them under the lights and gave them approx 1/4 ltre distilled water each day!
i think i set them to 12/12 too late cos they were way too tall for the room and i had major problems with them hitting the light all the time!
of course i knew nothing of tying them down back then so have learned so much more from all of you guys!!
so first 2 pics are just before harvest and last pic is of what we harvested!!
NO SNIGGERING PLEASE!! LMAO!!

Sniggering?
Pfft. Yas got 3 jars full of glee! That ain't nuttin' to snigger at!
I'm one of those that believe looks on the stock don't mean a lot.
It's what's in the jar that will carry you far.

No one will snicker at you here, Tracey. No one. We just want to help you succeed. And for your first plants, not knowing what you where doing and not the best conditions, you did just wonderfully. This time, we will help you all we can, and you could even be having clones to flower as well. So even if there is only one girl in all those babies, you will learn how to make her into a whole roomful. I will see to that sweetie. Then you will makes some fine oil with it all.
No worries at all.
Love you Tracey.
Peace

aaaah thanks everyone for you're kind words!!
and debs,i have partaken in a toke or two from the jars and it's very nice indeed tho i'm sure it could've been better if i'd bothered a bit more.
i must say i've had quite a bit of help from joint girl this time who is a mine of helpful info and has some wicked ideas!!
she thought up the boxes for walls(not too close) cos i didn't want to spend fortunes creating walls when i'm not sure i'll continue with this once the oil is made.
we are taking a huge risk doing this as we have business's in the local area and everyone knows us,so if we are caught no matter our motives,i'm pretty **** sure we would be ruined.
to me though it's worth the risk if it saves the lives of 2 people very dear to me.
so hey ho,onwards and upwards!!
thanks again for you're support and help guys,it means so much!!

Rep Power: 91 | | Just found your jornal Hey Tracey! Looking Good! Thanks for the kind words, your too sweet I'm so glad the box's are workin out for you...I was a lil worried after Lacey mentioned 'Fire Hazard' I knoew you'd make it work though! I figured they would work temporarily as I did a much smaller version to help a girl along myself. I just offered the same suggestion to someone else looking for a quick fix for some temporary walls. Keep up the good work, and YES check that PH! I know if it's not 1 thing, It's another! But it all is worth it in the end! Keep it up and Kudos
Happy Growing,
jointGirl

thanks jg! finally plucked up the courage to post here!!many heads make light work and all that!!
so guys i think i have a problem!!
these babies seem to be growing in height really slowly compared to the last lots i grew.maybe to do with the different strain?
i'm on my way out to do these things now but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
1.get ph strips
2.transfer into bigger pots
3.get new hps bulb(getting a 400w mh too)
4.move light a bit closer.
soil is miracle grow organic peat free soil. i just used ordinary potting compost last time so wondering if thats the problem?
any suggestions appreciated cos one is shrivelling up. will get pics while i'm there to let you see better whats going on.
they are in week 3 of veg.lights are on 18/6 and they are still the height of seedlins but with leaves!! dwarf white widow???

Hey Tracy,,try and find some soil with no fertilizer and use your miricale grow half and half when you transplant.Make sure to keep perlite at 40%.The sprout that is shriviling probibly hit a fertilizer pocket in the M.G.Sometimes that mg is too hot and it stunts growth and burns seedlings up.If you get plants to grow in it ,it works well.
Hope this helps
