Rep Power: 99 | | Summer 2009 Purple Cindy Grow
Ok, this one I'm excited about. Purple Cindy, henceforth known as PC, has intrigued me from the first time I read about it, and there's some really crazy ass grows on High Grades website.
Prior to writing the grammy winning thread, First Grow Wisdom, I spent hours and hours reading about strains, sativas, indicas, and the worlds best pot. Several kept popping up, like C99, Santa Maria, Jack Herer. I'm growing Lowryder for the Santa Maria brazilian genetics, and just got some Purple Cindy from High Grade. It has the thai and Mexican heritage, as well as C99(Jack Herer x Shivaskunk), and heard nothing but good things about it. The plan is to grow the best pot I've ever smoked, so we'll see. The last time with White Widow was easy! It has a good two months in jars now, and it smokes like a Cuban Cohiba at a Belize Sunset.
(By the way, before I forget, High Grade is good people. I did not want to order from Canada for security reasons, but PC got the best of me, and I did cash through the mail ordering some vintage mix and PC. I got vintage mix and Super Mix when it arrived than 2 weeks after ordering. I dropped a note letting him know the error, he responded within a few hours, and shipped the PC the next day. Only problem I have now is finding time to grow all this!)
I germ the old fashioned way, figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I wanted you guys to get some close up pics of these seeds! Either PC has some really gorgeous gams, or Highgrade filters the seeds they sell much more than other seedbanks. But these look really pretty, plump, juicy, speckled pot seeds, ready to take you higher.
I'll be growing in 3 gal sq pots, and transplanting only once. I have room for 8 plants in my closet grow, and germed 11, so unless I get a very high fem ratio, should be fine. Since I'll be using the same room as my Lowryder 2's are finishing in about 4 weeks, the idea is to switch PC to 12/12 as soon as Low's are finishing up.
Soil is already percolating, bongoloids mix-60% Promix, 20 Perlite, 20 worm castings, 1 t each jersey green sand and kelp, 2 t per gal of lime. I'm going to mess with the nutes a bit, but will be totally organic guanos and some Foxfarm stuff.
I'm excited! | | The Following 6 Users Say Thank You to insub4u2 For This Useful Post:

In reading, I found several posts regarding the DEA and Canada, Canadian seed bank busts, and sharing US information across borders. Given the proximity, it's been said that the US customs watched Canadian flows more than European. Of course, most of what happens is confiscation of seeds in transit. That's not what worries me. It's the paper trail that might be out there. Think of it this way-it's the difference between buying condoms at your neighborhood store(Canada) or driving out of town(Europe). I've never heard of that strain before. I can't wait to see how they turn out.

Dang, I hate when that happens! This is my third grow, and yet to lose a seed. But, all sprouted, one just didn't finish, so have 10 PC's going that look real nice. Plan is to give them a few weeks in these, then move to into the grow room under HPS. | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to insub4u2 For This Useful Post:

I'm kind of excited to check out the yield on HGS. MY first grow was widow, and only yielded about an oz and a quarter per plant. But the smoke is awesome, you just want to smoke it 'cause it tastes so good!. The Low 2's are starting to stink, but looks like the yield is gonna suck. Oh well, as long as the smoke is reasonable.
PC's on week 3 from seed, just upgraded to a 125 watt cfl from 2 42's. Looking very healthy and stable. | | The Following User Says Thank You to insub4u2 For This Useful Post:

Here the "girls" are. They all seem very healthy, and stable. Just feeding them 1 T of molasses, 1 T of LK, and 1/4 cup worm castings each watering.
I'd like to get them under the HPS at about 3-4 weeks, to jump start veg, but may take them 5 weeks under the 125 watt cfl. I'm having a real time keeping the heat down in my grow space. Small fans worked great in the dead of winter, when I was sucking 20 degree air in, but can't seem to get enough "inside" air flow to keep the temps much under 90. I"m on 18/6, and shut down from 2-8, the hottest part of the day. Just want to make sure they don't get heat stressed, as the Lowryders are already showing signs of it.
Any cooling suggestions out there? | | The Following User Says Thank You to insub4u2 For This Useful Post:

Rep Power: 99 | | My Bad...:( Any suggestions?
Hate to break this news, but went away for 3 days, seedlings dried out, and trying so save 4 of 10. All others were too far gone. The survivors look like they started to shoot out pistils, though they were under 24 hours of light, so I figured it was the stress. They're is some new growth, very stunted on the survivors, so not sure how this will go. Any suggestions anyone has to help pull them through would be greatly appreciated. I found them Sunday night, and been gently spraying them a few times a day, and even weighing them to make sure they aren't too soaked/dry. I'd post pictures, but I'm too embarrassed.
Oh well, back to the drawing board. Maybe I can salvage a male and female and make babies! Or, just order some more seeds.
Sorry everyone, thought they'd hold out just fine for a few days, as only watered every 3-4 days. |

Is there any good way to revive almost dead plants, and if they do survive, are they worth growing out anyway? Thanks.

Thanks, it was a bonehead mistake on my part, as they were looking nice. I watered well, went on a short vacation, came home and was shocked to find them. Oh well, got plenty more seeds, just a set back on my grow schedule.
