Default Summer 09 WA balcony Grow

i started with a couple of white rhino mother plants and a pack of the premium mix from Marijuana Seeds (cannabis Seeds) High Quality Low Prices (good genetics, reliable, godd $$). And only 1 female came out of the mix pack and i think its SSH; I also recieved 5 free Mazar x Afghan seeds of which one was a hermaphrodite the others males (but it worked out in the end since i used the hermie for breeding). I also recieved a Alaskan thunderfuck clone and Double Dutch clone from my dispensary; the trichome formation on these babies was phenomenal as you will see. I crossed branches on all my females with a hollow stem, fast growing indica that came in the mix pack (i think it was either BB or NL; im leaning towards BB though).
I used DWC with a nutrient formula straight from holland that is made here in the northwest. Plants were started indoors/outdoors under a 400w MH then taken outdoors for flowering on my balcony.

Wink Summer 09 Grow

I found out several things about this beautiful plant during this grow.

1. They love light; and they are fierce competitors for territory. If you place several plants close together the dominant ones will strive to gain the upper canopy.

2. They are very sensitive to time schedules and light/dark photoperiod; they are also very sensitive to temperature and Colder temperatures play a key role in driving the plants to flower.

3. If you keep the roots heated you can keep plants alive well into the winter; although the low light levels during this time do not allow you to grow the plant at their maximum potential.

4. Deep Water Culture and other oxygenated hydroponics are a fast and cheap growing method and i saw considerable positive results between hydro and soil. Plants grow bigger and fuller; you can see the difference in size, health, and yield of the plant.

I will be continuing this thread for my current Fall 09 Grow; for those of you that are interested pull up a chair and check out how they turn out.

Another thing. I am new to the forums and I know a lot of people make connections and trade strains in here. If anyone is interested in helping me out on a breeding program; I am starting a new project to create my own ultimate strain. I will be giving seeds out to serious breeders who are interested in helping. If you reside anywhere near the Northwest maybe we can trade clones and i can send seeds via mail to anyone not in the Northwest.

The strain crosses that i have made and am in the process of making are:

(All crosses were made with a Fast growing/blooming indica male (hollow stems, considerable stem trichrome production; i believe it was Big Bud or NL, it came from a premium seeds mix pack)

White Rhino X BB
Mazar x Afghan x BB
Double Dutch x BB
Alaskan Thunderfuck x BB
and SSH x BB
also feminized Mazar x Afghan (hermaphrodite)
I also have a strong Mazar x Afghan male that i am currently collecting pollen on to use for further work.

The Alaskan Thunderfuck clone that i have is a true ATF and no joke (straight from the matanuska valley from a serious old timer that has been growing for over 50 + years). This strain is amazing in bloom growth, node distance, and blossom size, the plant may not grow very big or fast but the fruit is seriously out of this world and there is not a single spot on the plant that didnt have a bud on it. I will be using this strain, the White Rhino, Double Dutch, Lemon Skunk, Mango Kush, and Super Silver Haze as the backbone of some new strains.

If you are serious and are interested in maybe trading some knowledge and collections; let me know.

Back to the current grow

The pictures that i am uploading are my flower and veg room.

the DWC bins have the following Strains:
In flower room: White Widow (pheno 1 and 2), SSH, Himalayan Gold, BB, and Purple High; and DWC 5 gal Buckets. Im runnin a 1000w coolstar switchable ballast with MH/HPS; a squirrel cage fan for ventilation and c02 during photoperiod. becaused its a sealed area..

In the Veg room: Sno-Cap or Dutch Treat (came from a buddies bag), Mango Kush (seriously the widest indica leaf i have ever seen, just started from seed), a bunch of White Widow, and Purple High.
also the ATF and WR that i regenerated. Im runnin a 400w MH Floralux and a florescent shop light for clones and seedlings; my soil mixture is 1/3 perlite, 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 compost/worm castings (made by me) and some vermiculite. Also running C02 in the Veg room.

Wink Double Dutch

Really take a look at the trichrome formation on this Double Dutch Strain. Its crazy it looks like somebody dumped a bunch of sugar powder on it!

I recieved it as a clone from my dispensary (thank you Green Buddha); it is a cross from Magus Genetics in Amsterdam (Warlock x Chronic) Warlock is a skunk x afghan. The aroma is dead on with "honey soaked wildflowers, and citrus".

It is said to finish in 60-65 days but I am on day 62 and i think i will give it another week to fatten up (the buds are not big, but really heavy and dense, you can feel the weight in them)

The only other strains that i have seen top this are my ATF and Romulan.
