| Thanks J-angel and the rest. Helpful info to say the least. I finally got the temps stabilized at around 70 to 80. I definitely see signs of heat stress, as the the plants in the center are a much brighter green than the plants on the outskirts (which are larger and darker green). They were all "root-locked" in the clear plastic cups I was using. I believe they were all dwarfed by the roots being exposed to light. Transplanting them to taller tubes and larger containers has sparked growth in all. Also, I stopped spraying them with worm-poo, yet after transplanting them all, the bottom leaves keep turning yellow. OnceI trim them, it stops. All I can figure is that the MG soil is doing this. Does anyone know anything about trimming and pruning? Should I be trimming the bottom leaves when they turn yellow? Or trimming and pruning in any special way to help growth? Thanks, Rolling Stoned P.S. One plant in particular has a strong sensimillia odor, not the "mowed grass" smell of the others. I smoked some dry trimmings and actually got a pretty good buzz --It surprised me. I don't know why that particular plant is so different in size and potency, because all the seeds came from the same bud... It's a mystery to me... Here's some update pics:

| what i did with my plants was wait till most of the leave is yellow and just snip it off at the base of the stem. if it has any black spots towards the tips u usually snip it off about a mm from the spot. just use your judgment and you'll do fine.

| Can you shift the plants that are most stressed with the unstressed ones? It might give them a leg up. I move my veging ones around all the time. I always know when my plants need potting up, they look sick and there are roots coming out the bottom. I have been known to pot them every couple of weeks in the beginning. My soil is organic though and I don't fertilize much, so once all the food in the pots is used up, they tell me. Don't panic if this happens. It is only natural. And any leaf that looks damaged, just take it away, cut it off, I pinch mine off. It takes more energy for a plant to TRY and repair a leaf than to grow a new branch. and that is what it will do. The plant will be fine. If they are healthy leaves then do not do it. Just sick ones. Peace

| those are some real good looking plants... all from the same seed stock you say? well if they are seeds you 'made' and the parents are different strains then itll be normal for the seedling to be a bit different... anyway.. keep up the good work peace | ||||||||

| Thursday, August 14th, 2008 – 4:00pm, temperature 81° , humidity 34%. (Two or three of the plants have yellow leaves with some red spots. The three plants that are in the in the long cylinders all look dark green and very healthy. One (the biggest) is even emitting a strong sensimillia smell. All the other plants (17) are a very bright green and not dark green like the three plants in the cylinders. I trimmed all the bottom leaves that have turned yellow. 8:00pm – temperature 84° , humidity 34%. Lowered the plants again. Someone said the yellowing is from too much heat. __________________________________________________ ____________________________________ Week Three – Lighting 24/24 Saturday, August 15th, 2008 – 5:30pm, temperature 83° , humidity 34%. Two plants withered and almost dead. Soil seemed dry as a bone. Another with yellow and spotted leaves. The rest seem healthy. 7:00pm – Watered them all. __________________________________________________ ____________________________________ Sunday, August 16th, 2008 – __________________________________________________ ____________________________________9:30am, temperature 86° , humidity 35%. I cut down the two plants that withered. Why did they die?? Virtually overnight, and they were gone. Except for a couple with yellowish leaves and red spots, all the rest look fine. The roots of the two withered plants had filled more than half the cup… Is it time to transplant them? Monday, August 17th, 2008 – 9:30am, temperature 80° , humidity 37%. Transplanted the rest into tubes and 4 into larger pots. Not enough room. Squeezed them all in. Temperature rising. Consider all watered.__________________________________________________ ____________________________________ Friday, August 22th, 2008 – 9:30am, temperature 76°, humidity 37%.__________________________________________________ ____________________________________ Week Four – Lighting 24/24 Saturday, August 23rd, 2008 – 5:30pm, temperature 82°, humidity 30%. All the plants in the narrow tubes are bright green, but the plants in the larger pots appear darker green and are much larger in size. I think the plants in the smaller containers are experiencing "root-lock," hence their smaller size and lighter color.__________________________________________________ ____________________________________ Hi Folks! I have eleven real small plants growing in 3 inch round and 6 1/2 inch tall tubes. I have room in my rubbermaid tub for 2 more big pots or 5 or 6 more quart size pots. I plan on culling the smallest "tube plants" and adding the best to quart size containers to see what becomes of them. I'm just beginning my fourth week vegging my rubbermaid plants. I transplanted the six best looking plants into larger pots and the plants look better already. However they are still small. (The size of my hand and only about 5 nodes tall, including the water leaves) Maybe about 4 inches tall, max. If I understand things correctly, I should start flowering them in a week. But should I? They seem too small to start flowering.... Plus, I just topped them all yesterday.... Question: Also, someone talked about using nutes during flowering. I have worm-poo spray that's organic and guarantees that it won't cause plant burn. (It's called Terracycle, All Purpose Plant food - Made from worm-poo. Total Nitrogen 0.03, Phosphate 0.002% and Soluble Potash 0.02%)You're supposed to spray the plant food on the soil surface before watering. But I used Miracle Grow self-feeding soil (Feeds for 3 months)because I don't trust my skills in mixing my own soil. J-angel, you mentiond that I don't need to add nutes to the MG soil. But what about when you're flowering? Would it help to use the worm-poo for flowering? Like I stated above, it's organic and does not cause nute burn. What do you think? Thanks again to you all for tutoring me here, it's very much appreciated! Rolling Stoned ![]()

| Rolling stoned, I know Jonnyappleweed swears by the MG bloom boaster. PM him and ask him and he will get back to you about that babes, it should work with the miricle grow soil you are using. I think the worm poop is good for veg, high in nitrogen. You don't want too much if you are flowering. What are the numbers on the bottle? If the first number is high, that is nitrogen, and that would not be suitable. Peace.

| It won't hurt anything at all. Just feed with water, every time. And never spray under the lights. But PM jonny and he will advise you. You need something to go with that soil sweetie. Peace

| I'm *guessing* that if you can have the plants veg a bit longer or transplant and not use any more miracle grow your flowering will go better. It would use up more of the nitrogen which I take it can make the smoke harsh if too much is in the final product. Is this correct anyone? PS. I ahve a big bag of miracle grow at my place, luckily I never got around to using it :-) | ||||||||

| Actually I have heard good things about the new Miricle grow organic lines. Videoman uses it to mix in for his soil. And use the miricle grow for tomatoes or flowers. It is fine there. Peace
