Rep Power: 27 | | Philly's First Grow. Multi stage cabs.
Soooooo. I have finally, after years of reading and helping friends decided to really go for it and commit the time and money needed to have a successful grow. I am viewing this as a learning experience but with some help from some experienced friends and the gp community I am hoping to get some results.
I am going to be posting up a lot more information about specifics tomorrow (I am exhausted from building all day). There is still a lot of work to be done but we are going.
I am gonna be using this cab for flowering with a 250 HPS (air cooled) and a smaller, similar design for veggin, using CFLs. I will be keeping this thread quite up to date, hoping that all you can help out as we go.
Anyway, on to opening day pics.
Partially painted.

And off we go....

So, I have not been updating because I wanted to have some progress done and be getting close to flowering before I started regularly posting (I also just got my camera working again...lol).
I am running a 400 watt, air cooled, HPS and I have a very strong (200+ CFM) fan exhausting the box. Temperatures have been VERY high in town the last few weeks and temps in the box were struggling as a result. I put an air conditioner in my room and that has DRASTICALLY reduced the temperatures in the box (now running at low 70s in dark and highs of 81-83 at the canopy with the light about 18 inches away).
I have been using fox farms nutrients and I am going to be checking PPM now that I have a working meter.
Anyway, on to the pictures....
Here is a view of the box, doors open.
The Diesel
Hashberry
Strawberry Cough
Leaf Curl on the Straw Cough. Not sure whats causing this. Any thoughts?

Nice work pilly4life.You will like th 400watt in that space. It will give you all the needed watts per sqft to grow good strong plants. You have about the same room in there that I do in my cab.One thing I found is the ballast puts out heat, so I put the ballast on top of the cab and it drop the heat down alittle more. That cab will do you just fine with light you are putting in there.Light, air movement, and fresh air are the main keys to a good cab grow. You have all of them.Good work. Peace

Quick question for everyone. I have a small aphid problem which i am going to begin addressing tomorrow. I am gonna be using sticky pads and neem of some sort. Do I need to splurge for the pure neem or can I use the cheaper hybrid stuff? Im not sure what to get but I want to take care of this tomorrow, Thanx

So the girls just woke up and are on day 2 of 12/12. I figured now would be a good time to take a bunch of pics. I got pics of each plant and some canopy shots to put here. Temps are running ~71 when the lights are off and around 83 at the canopy at full light.
They are do a watering and feeding tomorrow. When should I switch them over to the flowering nutes??? Should I do it now or let them go for a little more with the veg stuff. I am using fox farms. and I have tiger bloom waiting.
On to the pics:
Strawberry Cough 1
Strawberry Cough 2
Diesel
Hashberry
Blubonic: the run of the group, looks good but I took two shots in case anyone sees something.

he everyone, I just switched them over to the tiger bloom and did some number checking. My nutes are running around 700 ppm (I wanted to start low to see how they do) and my runoff ph is sitting right around 6.0. I think those numbers are pretty good from what I know.
The only problem I am foreseeing is overcrowding. I will get some pics in a day or 2 and see what people think about training. I am thinking about training them towards the walls but I am not sure if that is best.
Also, I am deff gonna need to build a platform to help with watering, without having to take them out of the cab.
Till next time,
Philly

The wait is long, but I have been loving learning and I think it could be worth it....
Before I get on to some pics, here are a few of the important details:
Day Temps: ~75/85 Night Temps: ~65-70
Humidity: ranges from 30%-45% with peaks of around 55%
pH: ~6.8
Time: Today was the 35th day of flowering.
*********And on to some pics********************
Here is a shot from a week ago
For the rest of them, the shots were taken last night. the two in the back are the strawberry coughs and the shorty on the left is hashberry and the other is the diesel.
And I threw this pic up because my girlfriend took it and I like it
Future:
I have had some yellowing that makes me a little nervous. The only thing that I could come up with was the possibility of salt buildup from the nutes so I gave team a medium flushing today and then will give them nutes again in few days until the flushing begins.
My plan is to have the Hashberry run 8 weeks, The Coughs are going to get pulled near the 9 week mark, but I am going to pull them about 3-5 days apart to see the difference in the high and overall quality. I can't really get any info on the diesel so I am planning on letting the diesel go about 8 weeks, but I am going to go more on how it looks and reacts (but for the sake of flushing I will assume 8 weeks). I also bought a high powere hand microscope today so that should help the whole process out.
***My question is about flushing. I am thinking about flushing for about 12 days, but if anyone has any thoughts, lemme know. SOrry about the long post.

They Are Looking Very Nice, This Late In Flowering You Are Going To Have Some Yellowing, They Could Be Using Up Stored Energy, Which Is Natural, Also If You Are Giving Them Just Bloom Nuts???,,They Will Be Low On Nitrogen Which Is Also Natural.
About Flushing, If You Have A Real Aggressive Feeding Program??,,Then A Two week Flush Might Be Necessary, But Usually A Week Will Do.

As i said, i have been taking alot of pictures. The girls just woke up and I did my picture taking so I am going to throw some of the ones up from tonight so people can see how things are really looking.
Things are looking a tiny bit droopy from the leaching yesterday, but I think it will be for the best.
First up is the diesel. There are 3 fan leaves that have gotten yellow. They are still firmly attached to the plant so I figure not to cut them. I could use the extra space for other nugs thou so if it wont hurt the plant, could I cut em off?
The next 2 are the hashberry
And here are the coughs, still in the box
As always, thanx for the comments and support.
