Hey Shane if you want to keep a mother don't feed her bloom nutes only veg nutes. The ones I have now I keep taking cuttings off on a regular basis and I feed them basic veg nutes only.
On my first grow I took cuttings then flowered the original plants. Keeping track of donor and cuttings is key to indentify them down the road. Then by the time I was done flowering the clones were all grown up and ready to go again.
ye thats the route im kinda taking , im going to keep a mom plant now , take cuttings as soon as she is ready flower the original plants for 8 weeks , so the time it comes to the harvest, the clones i took would be in veg for about 5-6 weeks then i will flower the first mom amd the first batch of clones and keep one of the grown up clones for a mom on the next grow . if that makes sence once again lol.

Hiiya all , i have notice my chiesel plants are getting abit clustere'd they are roughley 9-10 inchs tall now and are very bushy nad are getting tangled up and the new growth seem to be getting light deprives aswell due to the big fan leafs at the bottom . would my plan come to any harm if i trim the bottom fan leafs off and let the plant stretch out abit ?

Hey cheese, I'm having the same problem and have been wondering the same thing. I was thinking that when lower leaves start to yellow a bit due to age we should remove them so the plants will send the energy to the bud sites. I've also read that lower branches can be trimmed cuz the rarely produce much. I have been wanting to thin some of my bigger shade leaves to let more light down to the bud sites but like you I am unsure. I hope someone can help the both of us out.

I usually never trim anything, unless the leaves are dying off, I would just tuck them out of the way of the light, sometimes with bag ties. As the plant gets bigger you may want to "spread" the branches out to help light penetration, I think jangel's LST-ing thread has some great ideas?

Hi there Shane congrats on the new lady. Are you flipped 12/12 now is did she just start showing? It might be an idea to take a couple of cuttings off her sooner then later. Looking good.
