Default My T-5 and CFL grow

I learned so much looking at other peoples grow journals I figured I would start one. I am usuing a 50/50 mix of perlite and organic soil. I am going to veg and flower in seperate areas. This is only my second grow. The first was with 2 mature plants in mystery soil without perlite a friend gave me. I had Ph and heat issues, but stil managed 3oz of good meds and a nice marble of honey oil.

I just picked up 6 clones from fruitridge hwc in sac thanks cam for the reccomendation. I brought an ice chest for the trip and have good AC in my car, but it was going to be a 4.5 hour ride home. After waiting a few minutes for the dispensary to check my paperwork and picking out my clones and some other meds the ice chest had gotten quite warm. I threw in a cold soda and my six clones. 2 krypto and 2 purple kush from oaksterdamn and 2 head case from a local breeder. 1 of the clones didnt look so hot when I got it home. This shop gets their clones on tuesday if anyone is going to go visit them. I misted and put under 46w cool cfl for the night. This morning 2 more were struggling and I potted them all in my soil. They are currently sleeping for 6 hrs. temps around 75.

My flowering space is 55" long by 26 wide by 48 tall. I have a 4' 4 bulb t-5 on top and the same fixture on a side wall. both have 3 flower and 1 grow bulb. I have tons of clamp fixtures and 23 and 42w cfls that I use as I see fit. The box is exhausted through a dutch carbon filter and a 4" can HO fan. My veg box is a converted dresser its 45" tall 30 wide and 16 deep. It is vented with an old 6" inline duct fan and no filter yet but I am probably going to make one like Jangel did. Thanks Jangel. I have (4) 42w cfl bulbs and (4) 23w cfl bulbs with all 6500k.

So I have spent the last few days trying to keep my clone alive. The rapid rooter and soil clones did great. Some of the rockwool clones struggled with the transplant to soil. I tossed 1 and am still working on another, but the rest seem okay. I threw 4 plants into the flowering chamber yesterday and they should be waking up soon. 2 of these gals were tiny, but I wanted to get something flowering while I am vegging/cloning the others. I dont want to have to buy any meds. It will be interesting to see the differences in yeild between plants that have vegged for several weeks in the same enviroment vs clones flowered right away. I have two clones of each strain except blue dream, so I threw the better looking clone of each strain into the flower box. I will hopefullly add more plants later. Nothing but water with a bit of superthrive and molasses so far. I will add a little FF bloom to the soil when I repot the flowering plants, but I am going to try to avoid adding stuff to the water

Here is a link to the Struggling clones thread,A couple of my clones arent doing so hot

and some pics of the setup. Im wasting a lot of light in the flower chamber with these micro plants, but just didnt want to run out of meds. I had only planned on flowering 3-4 plants at a time, but may try to squeeze in the full six which is my limit. I Put the panda plastic over the soil because I had a bunch laying around, and Im going out of town for three days and dont want them to dry out too bad. The humidity in the veg box is hovering around 35 and one clone is still alive in an oven bag that now has some holes in it. We'll see how it looks in 3 days. Im assuming I wont have more than an inch or two of growth. Or is it better to play it safe move the lights up a bit and let them stretch. They are so compact I may just play it safe

I would say your doing great ganathan,, I like your grow cabs, I'm getting ready to build mine (first inside grow, been an outside farmer for years) So some of your ideas what your doing here were good info for me,, I was wondering if it's good to flower right now as you plants are very young,,,

Hey ganathan,If your leaving for a few days I would move the lights up and maybe use less of them untill you get home.Maybe just use the T-5's.Nice set up...Good luck to you

The plants are tiny, but not young. They are clones they could be a year or two old I just dont want to run out of bud so I figured I would start the countdown on a few of these ladies. I will throw a few more plants in there after they veg fo a few weeks. Should be kinda interesting to compare yields. Raised up the lights about 4 inches hope that does the trick.

I have been dealing with some sick clones, so I have been posting in the hospital. There is a link in one of my posts above. I repotted into a soil with more nutrients and misted with a little h20 and fish emulsion and the plants are doing okay now. I have three that have been flowering for three weeks and three that are going into the flowering chamber today, after vegging for three weeks

Here are the pics.
Vegging plants are head band, purple kush or krypto, and blackberry.
flowering plants are headband, and two blackberry. I killed a bluedream that just didnt want to stop flowering. I was afraid it might have been a hermie.

Thanks for all the help everyone and I back to the dispensary on tues where I will hopefully pick up six new clones.

Everybody is in the flowering cab now. I figured If I threw the other 3 ( 1 headband 1 blackberry and 1 krypto or purple kush) in the flowering chamber they would be starting to finish around christmas. The three that have been flowering for 3 weeks are tiny, but are starting to look and smell nice( 2 small blackberry and 1 bigger headband). I am going to the dispensary this week to get some new clones, cant wait to see what they have

Picked up five clones yesterday. One casey jones, two xj-13 and two krypto. I also cut two clones off the head band plant I had switched to flower a few days ago.( I hope I am at least 50% with my cloning success) So I have 2 tiny blackberry and one head band that should be ready in 4-5 weeks and one head band, one blacberry and one purple kush/ krypto that are only a few days into flower. I am going to try to put 3 plants to flower every 4-5 weeks. I know I have alot of strains going for a beginner, but I just love having variety. I hope these clones take faster than the last batch, so that they can veg a bit and produce some nice clones. I dont want to have to go back to the dispensary for a while.

so far everything continues to go well. The smallest of my flowering plants got knocked over and defintiely had some root damage, but is going to make it. The plants I flowered straight from clone are hopefully 3-4 weeks out now. They are pretty samll, but are just glistening with trichs. If they swell up like I hope they will I might get 20g which will keep me going until the second round is done. I knew they wouldnt yield much, but when you are almost out its better than having to buy. The others are one full week into flowering now. The clones have put out some new growth and I will start flowering 3 in 3-4 weeks while training and cloning the others. my two head cutings are not really showing any roots a week in. I realy hope one of them makes it. Oh looking at the photos the clones are pretty droopy, I guess I let them get a litle dry, but they were watered right after the pic was taken. It is so nice to even have this short history of what I have been doing, It beats the heck out of trying to read my notebook.

Fim'd all my vegging plants. I will have to choose which 3 to flower in about two weeks. Hopefully they will have recovered and and be ready to repot by then. I have been repotting and switchng to flower on the same day. Is this too much stress? My pitiful headband clone is finally showing some new growth. Hopefully it starts to take off soon.

FLoweing plants were chopped the other day, and three more(2 casey jones 1 Krypto) were all repotted into 3 gal pots and put into the flowering chamber. The three plants I harvested had about 3/4 oz of bud. About what I expected not much, but It is saving me from buying Its really amazing how little the roots developed during flowering. The next three plants(head band, krypto, and blackberry kush) to be ready are looking great. I have fed the other day with gorilla bloom and molasses. The three vegging plants are headband(my first ever clone. I put 2 cuts in dirt and one lived), krypto and xj13. They have a month or so before ther is room in the flowering chamber. Because of my height issues I think its time to get out the chains. I have already FIM them and they were pinched yesterday. I also have my second round of clones they are all looking pretty decent after 5 days. I have casey, krypto and xj. I finally am getting this perpetual thing dialed. The Christmas harvest is looking verry merry. Thanks for all the help everyone
