I am so pumped! I finally broke down and bought the HPS conversion bulb for my system. It was pricey, 118$ but I think it will be worth it. I have tossed this one around for a month. So I says "Self, you would not hesitate to spend that to buy pot, why not spend it and grow BETTER pot?" so self bought the bulb. Kinda feel like a kid with a new toy that he has always wanted! LOL! The colour is so different! And I timed it just right too, we got back just before the dark cycle ended and the light came on, like 2 min. So I unplugged the light and added the bulb, plugged it in and the timer turned it on! WOW! I also wore socks on my hands so I did not leave oily prints on the surface. My flowering plants have been on 12/12 since the 27th of July so it should make no difference to them, but improve the final buds.

TIP: keep your bulbs clean and they will last longer, and give you better quality light. And the oil from your fingers can damage the bulb.
So wear cotton gloves or socks work too! LOL!

Here's some pics of my flowering girls under the HPS light. Sorry about the colour but that is just the light.

First 2 pictures are all of them, then the left side and the right side. Last two pictures are individual plants, right and left. I love the size of them! LOTS of buds popping out! They love the HPS!

You will also see the chains and other things hanging off these plants. I have also supercropped some of the highest branches to aid in lower bud production and to bring the hieght down. See the chains ? I keep these on and they have been on since they where flipped into flower July 27. I moved some around when I took these shots and will again leave them there to keep those branches down and light getting to the inside buds.

Aren't they lovely?

All my clones have rooted very nicely. The ones I packed in with perlite under and around them have twice the roots the ones I did not do that to. Check out the difference in the roots. I have planted them all up. Also, check out my thread about cloning a flowering plant for more shots and info on that. These clones will be the next to flower I hope. Weee Hoo! All potted up. I also soaked them in a mixture of gel rooting compound mixed with water for a few minutes to encourage their root growth. And took a few more flowering clones...see the link below for all that info and more info on cloning. ....and loads of bud shots....yummm!

Last two shots are of first, my flowering clones and the last is all the babies in their new pots and the flowering clones ready to root. I keep them all under a dome as the flowering ones need the extra moisture. Once I have more roots on the potted up ones, I will put them under my t-8's to veg for a bit.

Here are some shots of the one with the split stem and what I have done to help support it as it grows buds, so it will not split further with the wieght. The orange thing is a very large elastic band we had. I cut it and tied it around the area I needed supported, put a pencil in it, and turned it, to tighten it. If it needs to be loser, I will just back it off a bit, and I can remove it if I choose to. Also, here are a couple of LST shots. I am trying to open up these plants so the buds inside, that naturally will not get light due to the banches shielding them, are opened up. Those pics are number 3 and 4. Last two are my Nepali Grizzly that just will not stop flowering...more of these and some great bud shots in the "Cloneing a flowering plant" thread.
