Hey guys n gals, I just thought I would start a journal here for my first grow. Currently I have going some nice big leafy CH9 Jack and some little mexibrick bag seed in 100% coco - hand watered.
I started some mexibrick bag seed about two weeks ago for practice. Then once my seeds came in I started my CH9 Jack. My current feeding schedule is 1ML/L Canna Coco A&B every other day and flushing once a week with molasses. Today was flush day. :D I've got some rhizotonic and cannazym on the way too that should make things go even better.
I look forward to my babies getting bigger. The CH9 Jack is all feminized and should hopefully produce some good moms for cloning. The bagseed is likely to be replaced with Mazar-I-Sharif any day now depending on my patience. And I have some special Purple Skunk x Mango seeds coming in at some point too, which guarantees they won't probably won't live too long. But they have been good practice.

I started the bag seed because I wanted to see what the schwag I had been smoking might actually turn out to be. It all depends on space really. But if they make it to the flower chamber in time, who knows?

Yeah, very true. I just don't have too much space to play with and I'm not sure how it's all going to turn out anyway.
Here is a quick pic of the cab without the back / extra plastic on... As you can see I went crazy and tried to wire it to code. I actually remounted the big light since this was taken and it is 3 or 4 inches lower than it is right now with the blower above it instead of next to it. Oh ... and the tube has a makeshift reflector on it too.

I thought I would put in my cabinet's conditions here just for logging purposes. This last week the humidity has been in between 35% - 45% pretty consistently and the temperatures have stayed between 68 and 75 degrees.
The week before I had temperatures < 60 degrees and humidity less than 20% which probably contributed the the small size of the bag seed. I started firing up the big light / fan to generate heat and I added a humidifier which has helped me keep the humidity up. Plus the outdoor temperatures have been much more moderate lately.
Today I started feeding again. I'm going to keep the lights on 24/7 to help manage the heat/humidity. And if the plants will use it, I'm going to try to water/feed everyday. (Yay for coco!)
I've also got a small bag of perlite coming that I am going to try in the near future to help keep the coco more aerated. I'm using Canna coco which I like better than the Sunleaves bricks I started the bag seed in. But it is a very fine mix, and I want to try stimulating root growth, especially in the veg stage. I read that adding perlite can help.
It's more of an experimentation thing really; trying to get the plant to utilize as much nutrients as possible for a bigger harvest. And I may be way off base, but it sounds good to me. :P

I got my EC meter, Rhizo and zym. Yay. Then I tested my tap water with the EC meter ... it was about 1 mS .. YIKES
I should probably start adding in distilled water to bring that down. I had noticed some of the leaves look a little wrinkly, and I was wondering what it could be. I'm guessing this.

Yeah. The leaves look a little burnt, but I flushed with 50/50 tap/distilled water twice today. And now they have all perked up. Hopefully that and the EC meter takes care of those problems! (The runoff was measuring at 1.7 mS then 1.3 mS the second time.)
So uhm. I forgot to update? Actually I've just been really sick and haven't felt like it... But I added several photos to my album! You'll notice that I should have started flowering the plants sooner, and since I didn't they all exploded. The flowering ones are getting light burned from being too close to the cooltube. :P Oh well. It's a good problem, right?
They have only been flowering for about 3-4 weeks now, so I guess I should be pretty happy for a first time grower regardless. :D I expect they have a good month left before I can start harvesting, but I've got some clones in the works too. Yay. I can't wait. International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums
Anywhere, there is the album link. Enjoy.
(I've bent the plants down under the light now. I'm trying not to make the apical bud too low, but also trying to get it plenty of light. The tops of the tallest plants were above the cooltube in the cabinet and not getting light, hence the droopyness.)
