ok so the cfl's are working good the only problem is that the grow area has gotten a good deal hotter! any ideas of how to cool off the room? right now i have a exhaust fan at the top left front corner, and a fan for air movement inside the box and i have my room fan blowing in the closet to cool out the hot air that gets exhausted. any and all help is appreciated.

are you running a 24 hour light cycle? or 18? I keep my veg box on a 24 hour cycle, but i turn the lights on for blooming at night because it is too hot during the day here. if you have an off cycle in your lights, change it to the hottest part of the day. other than that....crank the A/C?

20/4 cycle. im figuring if i add another 12v dc fan as an intake it should lower the heat a decent amount. i dont understand how cfls could raise the temp 10 degrees though thats kinda strange. i mean yea the ballasts are right underneath the bulb itself but still.

ok my firm belief after researching for an hour or so is that i could have over watered the plant. so what im gonna do is just wait till it dries up a bit and see if it improves.

It does not look like heat stress so just go with what you think. No perlite I can see in there. I think we already talked about that. Are there roots coming out of the bottom? How big is that pot? It does not look wet. Take that damaged leaf off. It is just taxing the plant, trying to fix it, and it will not get better. How often have you watered it? Feel the wieght when it is dry, and then you will know when to water. Let it get bone dry, but don't let the plant faint from lack of water, then water really well and feel the difference in wieght. That will tell you when to water again. You have very nice internodal growth and it does not look burnt or anything so it is the right distance from the light. It will be fine.

What water are you using to water with and what is the ph of it?

And you say you leave the door open for exhaust? no passive cold air return? Try another exhaust fan. and let us know.

i was reading something from another forum last nght where someone said that almost every grow he's done the first main leaves eventually fall off. i did not know that i figured just the pod leaves die. i usually would water the pot once a day and spray again later on. i cant see roots in the bottom yet so i dunno if i should transplant again so soon. im using distilled poland spring water with no added nutes as of yet. didnt realize but the organic soil im using has literally nothing in it, so im thinking of adding something to the sprayer soon.

i readjusted air circulation with my "mad cardboard skillz!" for more direct flow. Lol. the only issue im having is keeping the light from escaping the closet. its not stealth if its obvious...right now im just using a few black plastic bags to cover everything underneath the fans and then to block the rest of the light i hung a sheet across the everything with enough space to circulate the air.

also i was wondering how long i should wait till i transplant.. i cant see roots in the bottom yet and i cant exactly check from the top.. that i know of. so whats the best way to tell without waiting to long to see stress?

hahahaha all i have to say is "I SUCK AT TRANSPLANTING!!!" LOL. I damn near dropped the thing into place and then i had to move dirt out from under it cause i didnt dig a deep enough hole apparently. then while packing the dirt down the top of the root started showing so i hope i dont have a growth problem there. i basically covered with dirt and packed it down a little to keep it down then covered with top soil. what an ordeal...
