Rep Power: 18 | | My First Attempt Indoors Hello Everyone…I am new to Greenpassion, joining not quite a month ago and this will be my first stab at a grow journal. I have read nonstop since joining and to be honest, it has been like reenrolling back to school. (Only the subject here is one that I like) I would like to thank Greenpassion and every kind soul here for sharing the wealth of information that is available. So, I shall begin… This will be my first attempt at a cab grow indoors. My cab is 4’-3”W by 3’-0”D by 8’-0”H. I will be using T5 flouros (4’-0” w/ 8 bulbs-4@2700K-4@6500K). I will be growing in a soil mix that I will put together from Fox Farms products. I will also have oscillating fans for ventilation. Now that it will start cooling down I don’t believe I will have a problem with heat. The seeds I will start out with are from Amsterdam seeds, and they are as follows… 1. California Dream Indoor/outdoor Indica/sativa Yield-500gr/indoor Height-50-75 cm Flowering period-8 weeks Thc level- 23.9% 2. Hash Plant 100% indica Height-4’-0” Flowering period-8-9 weeks Yield-2.5-3.0 oz For starting my own seeds, I use equal parts vermiculite, perlite, and sphagnum peat. I then add 10 percent worm castings. You should add 1 teaspoon of lime for each gallon of soil and mix well. The nitrogen in the worm castings is gentle to the young sprouts, and it is in a form the new plants can use immediately. To help things out, I wet this soil down with water, first making sure to add 10 ml/gallon Thrive Alive B1 and 10 ml/gallon Maxicropliquid seaweed. Make sure not to make the mix too wet...the roots need air. The mix is just wet enough when you squeeze a handful and only a few drops come out. Start your seeds in a regular seed starting mix. Then, each time your plant is ready for a bigger container, transplant it into this fertile organic soil mix. If you time it so your last transplant occurs the same time you begin flowering, you should only ever have to give your plants plain water (although I recommend you add Thrive Alive and Maxicrop to your water also). I Will begin this soil mix by adding one bag each of Foxfarm original, Foxfarm ocean forrest, and Foxfarm light warrior. To this mix, add 1 level cup of Foxfarm Peace of Mind 5-8-4 and mix well. I usually begin my plants in the smallest dixie cups I can find, in my seed starting mix. After that, I transplant into a 6 inch container of this mix. Two or three weeks later, I transplant into a 12 inch container. Finally, right as I switch to flowering, I make my final transplant to the next size container (usually a three gallon one). Most of the nutrients are used up by the time I begin flushing them, so it works out well. This will be an ongoing journal and I know how we all like pictures and I will be posting them as I have them to post. This is only a plan to get me going and if anyone can add to or take away, PLEASE do, because I can use all the help I can get. Thank you all…Peace

hey cant wait to see this, sounds like a good plan :-). i liked FoxFarm products when I was using soil. just make sure you only mix up enough nutrients for your feeding. FoxFarm nutes dont keep well pre-mixed in a jug sitting around for a day or two. If you have to save some put it in the fridge, that way it wont ferment and smell. Oh and good call on the MaxiCrop.....that stuff is great for healthy roots. Cant wait to watch your grow

You sound like you really have done your homework Sweetie! I have gotten to know you and find you a wonderful, thoughtful individual and obviously you do great research! I know you will be paying this all forward very soon, if you have not already done it.
When I first did the Research for growing, to me it was like taking a college course in Cannabis! So I know where of you speak!
Good luck and I will be watching!
peace
