Master Kush, Skunk/Haze, Lowryder2 Fem grow pics... finally!
There are a couple of generations going right now, overlapping grows, just out of enthusiasm I guess!
So, to go backwards, the lady in the closet is finishing I think, in a week; cloudy trichomes all over, not one amber. She looks like hell, though is not quite as yellow as she seems under hps. I'd love harvest advice, because the buds are getting pretty gnarly; see pics. I don't know if the curling, drying and yellowing of the leaves is due to nitrogen sucking on the plant's behalf, or maybe something else. See captions under photos.
Then, awaiting the aforementioned closet and the warm blue of the 250mh, are three of her clones, and three seedlings 2 weeks old; the bigger lowryder 2 and the Skunk. Under the dome, there is a week old lowryder two ready to come into soil and another that hasn't popped up yet, and who may have gotten zapped by soil nutrients. The others all went through peat's root development camp.
I've only got room in my closet for four girls (under 250 hps and 250cfl red), so I'm preparing to move at least 2 lowryder2, the skunk and one MK clone under there. the future will reveal the plan; I don't know the sex of the skunk yet, and i don't know if I have a third lowryder yet, so no sweat. I wait, we all veg a bit, mama finishes up, and then we'll see who goes in the closet. The clones may hang under the desk until the lowryder finishes and then go under with the skunk when there's some space. No hurry. No worry.
Just a little update, pics of the girls and gnarly Maw. Pre-harvest smoke report!
Okidoki, from my seriously humble abode, the under-the-desk-and-closet grow goes gloriously (humbly speaking, especially after seeing some amazing grows from all of you!).
The first five picks are of the Motley Crew vegging under 200w cfl in the space under my desk. You, the experienced, can easily pick out the lowryder2 from seed, the Skunk Haze, more sativa-like, and the three weird Kush clones, one of which is the shortest, greenest, most abundant of the three you see just getting going. The stick is starting to make some funny leaves at odd places. Then there's a week old lowryder2 seedling ust got potted today.
The last three pics are of the mother of the clones, about a week from harvest, maybe even 2! In spite or her gnarly looking condition. trichs are all cloudy, dying to go amber, I can FEEL it! She's under 250hps and 250 2700k cfl. It looks as if some shy, starved forest animal has been picking at it (and I have! Again, ask my toaster) until she's practically bare. But the buds are heavy, I'd love to say they we're 2 liter coke bottle colas, but they're like little fists, blowing up under the hps. Lower buds are slower to swell, I see.
Enjoy, eh! I have been. She smells like blueberry, somehow, and now that's she's on the heavy side of cloudy, she's POTENT. What a dumbass I was to pick her apart so early. Newbie I am. Thanks for your eyes and suggestions. Just got a USB microscope that doesn't jibe yet with my software. Will work it out. Peace, good health and healing, gv

Thanks, Hatch and Redwood. A little support makes all the difference on this ocean of newbie doubt! I watered the two little girls that have been drinking more than the others; the skunk haze and one the stick clone were bone dry. Aaand, as they're over two weeks now, I gave em a bit of root juice and alga mix, hardly anything at all, I swear ;)>. I'll drop a coupla photos on here.
Maw's well, but listen to this and let me know what my future is: I had company last night and altered the light timers, stoned, and woke up to see that my closet was lit up at around four am! At this late stage in flowering, one week left, will there be repurcussions? I note more white hairs today on her grisly, slick bud beard, and maybe a new dusting of crystals, or they've darkened some. Am I all right?
Thanks yanks, live healthy, gv

Yield? How much weight do tight buds lose in drying?

Good question. I'm hoping for an ounce or so... ANYTHING will be appreciated, she's taken so much abuse. I'm lucky she's alive and budding. money.gif
The last pic is of the four that I anticipate will go in the closet next. Up front is the skunk haze, sex unknown, the seedling on its right is the second feminized Lowryder2 at one week +, then behind the skunk is the first fem Lowryder2, looking GREAT, and finally next to her is the Master Kush clone that dances the twist and drives me crazy... in a good way ; ).

Good eye, Red! Damn. No, sorry, mama had weird genes I guess. She had odd leaves from her conception. She was kind of a weakling, with a bent stem and least aggressive of the bunch, and wouncha knowit, the only lady. She buds like she's pissed, though, so maybe THAT trait will be passed on.So many things went wrong environmentally in her case that I'm hoping these clones with better conditions will show us her true, unadulterated splendour! SHe suffered bad ph most of her life, including was serious ph-down attack from a well meaning, but very nervous, friend. Her soil aws too tight and I learned to use nutes on HER, so you see... It's possible we'll see a real difference. Nature/nurture, can't wait to find out.
Peace, gv

The kush is the one on the back right, very green with fat, single leaves. On its left is the lowryder2, which has two pairs of normal three leavers. gv

You Will Be Okay, Just Set The Timer Back Where It Was Before.

You Loose About 70% Of The Wet Weight, So If You Have 1000grams Wet, By The Time It Is Dry & Cured It Will Weigh 300grams.
This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 576x768 and weights 54KB.
Like On This Plant, It Should Be Around 75grams Wet ??? (just a guess) So You Should End Up With Around 22grams Dried, Of Some Dank-Ass Bud.
Thanks for the clear answers, Hatch. I had a feeling she didn't suffer too much, lots of new growth. Have you had Kush plants that keep sprouting new white hairs until harvest? If I go by the trichs, I can't go wrong, right? PLease say yes! They're starting to turn amberish, not outright yet, maybe some tomorrow, but amber-ish for sure. Should I not look at trichs under the hps? I wonder if the color plays tricks on me.
As for losing seventy percent of the weight... Isn't there anyone I could talk to about this, maybe get a better deal? You know some people high up, here, right Hatch? Maybe 55%, I could do that. It's just one plant... big growers should lose 70 % of THEIR weight growing, they can afford it! Cut us little guys a break! All that to say it's going to be a light christmas.
I've been watching Rick Simpson's broadcasts, thanks to j-angel, I think, and I can't BELIEVE more people haven't heard about this all over the world. Unbelievable, which is why I said I can't believe it.
Be well, yo GV

HI, everyone, sorry for the long silence. I actually posted the master kush harvest and update on the lowryder2, skunk/haze and kush clones in harvesting, don't know how to repost it here... had photo trouble.
But, that was thursday last, and it's Wednesday this, and things are looking GREAT! Just as is the master kush smoking! This is my first self-produced bud, truly, and I'm amazed at the quality of it. Can't keep myself from talking about it, so sorry. Check out the girls, though. If you saw last week's pictures; right after repotting and the first day under MH and red cfl, you'll understand why I'm amazed by their growth. They really took to the new pots and soil, and I started doping the lowryders with bloom stimulator, to make a not too drastic evolution toward full flowering nutes.
They're almost ready for another watering (I heard it helps develop the roots to make them work a little to grab the moisture deep down) and I'll put more nutes in this time. The big lowryder, if you can say that, is at 31 days, and has been flowering for a week. the second just split her crown in three and put out her first pistils at day 21 after a week of 18/6 and big light, five days earlier than her sister did under 24 hour 200W light. Either I have two phenotypes, one stretchy 10" tall right now, the other squat, or th econditions are directing this odd dance. You can see from the photos that I've got the 250w red cfl only on them for the moment. It's all good, whatever they decide to do!
AS for the others, both of the master kush clones are starting to kick it! They've bypassed the dodgy health of their mother and started producing normal leaves, which the mother had a tough time of. The girl in the back right has started to push out pistils, too, she's going to be super bushy and beautiful. The other "stick" clone, if you can see what I mean, is doing really well, too, and she'll join me in the living room to be a source of inspiration for future little Mistress kushes. I'm watching the skunk like a hawk, waiting for preflowers, which I'm pretty sure will come in the next week. It's fifth week for them, the big ones, so they should be declaring soon.
That's the nudes from the gv's closet... all good. Thank you for the continued support, and especially for sharing the articles and press on the good fight. Happy healing, gv

hey, Hatch, thanks for the shout out. I think I posted a coupl'a pictures with the scale and you were DEAD ON. Crazy, seeing as how perspective is different when you're nt in the room et al. She weighed in at 70+ wet and without cleaning, 65 or so after trimming. ANd she's real good, AND, I was definitely tricked by the hps, as ou say. I'll have to take them out or cut some bud or sugar leaf next time to check.
Thanks, bro, gonna update with a few new pics. Peace, pot, plowhorses GV

Figured I'd leave the title since things haven't changed all that much on this end, just BIGGER and BETTER, and HEALTHIER than ever before. The plants, too!
Take a gander; The Lowryder2s are great. I guess things were going too slow for her, so the little LR2 split its top in three, you can see the two major stems in the first pic. Her sister is the biggest plant in there at the moment, and almost two weeks into flower; more like 10 days, have to check the dates.
I've decided to bend and draw the stem of the sativa in a horizontal circle; she'll look like a crown in the end, I hope. I thought about doing my initials, but G is frickin' hard! I think there are a couple of tiny preflowers, but I've decided just to wait for easily visible signs and put the magnifying glass away on it for the moment. I'm pretty sure it's a girl, but we know what that's worth if she turns out to be a fella.
Those are the from seed plants, then the other two, back right and front left, are Master Kush clones. I definitely see why many prefer to grow clones; these are going to be bushy as sweet smelling hell with a million bud sites and they're ready to go right away, though I'm having the bigger one keep pace and flower with the Skunk Haze, from whom, if she's a girl, I'll take a few bottom branch clones before going 12/12. The other kush clone will go out in the room to be in prepetual veg. Or back under 200 w cfl, haven't decided.
LIGHTING QUESTION:
The clone will be ready to go 12/12 in a week, but the autoflowers are going already. Should I swith from MH to HPS now and stay at 18/6 for the week, or just hold MH til 12/12? I've heard, once, that you get better buds with MH, but have no idea myself. Any opinions? I may go another week with the HPS at 18/6 or 16/8 to give the autoflowerers more daytime. If I go 12/12 with lowryders, will I sacrifice yield?
Thanks, enjoy your healing, much love to all, GV

You Can Flower With The MH, The Buds will Be Fine, Just Not as Big As They Would Be Under A HPS, Quality Wise It Will Be Fine.
I Don't Know That Much On The Auto-Flowering Strains, But Do Know Yes It Would Hurt The Yield At 12/12, They Are Best At 20/4, Guess You Could Just Leave The Auto-Flowering Plants In Your Veg Area, If You Have Separate Area's???

I dig that, hatch. I'm changing that sucker soon as I finish typing. I think I'll keep them at 18/6 and grow out the others another month. He'll, that'll be some full closet. Maybe I'll get my scrog up! Lata, gv
